Seoul Seodaemun-gu 5-star Hotels

The hotel is on a very, very high slope. If you get off the airport bus and drag your luggage to the hotel, you have to push it up the super high slope of about 100 meters by yourself. Due to the steep slope, it requires very high physical fitness... And on the second day of my stay, I stepped on a brick with a height difference of about 20cm on the downhill road, causing my right anterior talofibular ligament to be completely torn. I had to receive emergency medical treatment abroad and delayed all my subsequent plans...

Locationwise very good, central to subway Cityhall and close to shops and restaurants. Service by reception also very good 👍 However. Disappointed by apartment unit, i feel its style over practicality. The unit is very narrow and does not have a lot of space. Why put in a indoor ‘garden’ over a seating/sofa area in front of the tv? Beds are hard and not very comfortable, the AC unit was not consistent and blowing cold air during sleep. Not a lot of cupboards and no hooks for storage. Family of 4 was struggling with available space which is intended for 6 persons.

the location is perfect, that's why I chose the hotel. yes, thanks to other comments - the hotel is on the 19-20th floors of Koreana, without this it is really hard to find, but these are small things. very friendly owner, huge and clean room, large common space for eating or working, everything is great.

I got a room without windows… due to winter… no aircon… only useless blower or heater…so hot till cannot sleep… in the end I open the door to let corridor air to flow in… Remote control all in Korea language… in the end I just anyhow press the switches… at least a card show the switch layout in English. Room is small, no shaver, no toothbrush, no comb, no body lotion… the excuses they give is government law… if like this … they can give upon request…the hotel management just want to earn more money from customers . Hotel near City Hall Station…travel easy… hotel near to Koreana Hotel…

A very functional hotel in good location. Rooms are dated but practical. Not much amenities in the rooms. Best thing is the Tim Hortons cafe connected to the hotel lobby.

Hotel was great in many sense - location just next to City Hall station - enthusiastic, helpful bellboys who would take the initiative to help - very clean rooms, large bathroom - view of the City Hall from my room was great - my room didn't have enough space to open luggage bags on the floor unless you move away the heavy chairs There was just one thing I couldn't understand. I arrived at the hotel at about 2.50pm. They told me that check in time is 3pm. So I thought maybe we can do the registration first, but get the keys at 3pm, which is what other hotels do when I've arrived earlier than the check in time. But I was told that they can only start processing the registration at 3pm. As we checked out on NYE, the hotel was fully booked, so they were not able to allow us late check out even by an hour. But this, I can understand.

Great location but consider room choice for best experience.  This hotel offers a fantastic location with easy access to two subway lines and is within walkong distanceof popular areas like myeongdong and insadong. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearbu, making it a great choice for food lovers.  One thing to note is that the main road gets very busy on weekends due to Liberation Party event on Saturday and church service on Sundays, which lead to road closure and heavy foot traffic.  The hotel itself is confortable, but i’d recommend booking a premium room on the 17th or 18th floor, as these have been recently updated and offer a more modern and pleasant stay compared to other floors.  Good value to stay central in Seoul - just be mindful of thr weekend crowds and road closures

I like that this guesthouse was very close to the subway exit and on the same line as all the places I was visiting. The price was decent for having my own space and not having to share a bathroom. The room was clean and nice & cold. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but that seems to be the case in most places I've stayed in here in Korea.

My Stay at Lotte Hotel Executive Tower I recently stayed at the Lotte Hotel Executive Tower in Myeongdong with my family, including kids, and overall, it was a great experience with just a few minor hiccups. ### **What I Loved** - **Location, location, location!** The hotel is perfectly situated near the heart of Myeongdong, so everything from shopping to amazing street food is just a short walk away. It was super convenient, especially with kids, as we didn’t have to travel far to find food or entertainment. - **The rooms are stunning.** You can tell they’ve recently been renovated—everything felt fresh, modern, and well thought out. The rooms were spacious and comfortable enough for our family, and the design made it feel like a luxurious retreat after a long day out. - **Family-friendly atmosphere.** The hotel felt safe, welcoming, and very accommodating for families. Whether it was the convenience of the location, the comfort of the rooms, or just the overall vibe, it worked perfectly for traveling with kids. ### **What Could Be Better** - **Language barrier:** While the staff were polite and genuinely eager to help, their English was hit-or-miss at times, which led to a few miscommunications. However, they were always patient and tried their best to assist, which I truly appreciated. - **Amenities:** For a hotel of this caliber, the amenities felt a little basic. Only two complimentary water bottles were provided per room, which wasn’t enough for our family. Also, toothbrushes weren’t included and needed to be purchased separately, which was a bit inconvenient. ### **Final Thoughts** Traveling with kids can sometimes be challenging, but the Lotte Hotel Executive Tower made things easier with its fantastic location and beautiful, family-friendly rooms. Despite a few small issues with amenities and communication, we really enjoyed our stay. I’d definitely recommend it to families looking for a comfortable and convenient base in Seoul!

We booked an executive king Very large 2Br 2ba 4 of us so we had a bed set up in the other room (living room) which worked out well for my daughter The rooms were comfortable The hotel a bit older so the carpets seemed a little less new but overall a great stay Bedding and towels were fine Breakfast Buffett really good The club lounge had drinks and food too (food just so-so) The location great . Can walk across street to Myeongdong night market - so very convenient Also next door is Lotte Dept Store So can walk to many places - even the Palace is just 10 minutes walking etc The bar downstairs is nice - a bit expensive but u pay for the ambience One thing that bugged me was I spent over $500 usd per night on my room, but they would not give me Marriott points because I booked via Trip.com . For those that like to collect rewards - something to consider
