I think I accidentally stumbled upon RANG thinking it was a cool hotel with PC’s but it may or may not be a love hotel because all I saw were couples lol.
Walking distance from Seoul station but a bit hard to hail a cab. Our front desk receptionist was very nice and got a taxi for us so I’ll forever be grateful!
I booked this hotel last minute as I was in a nightmare airbnb and needed to find somewhere decent to stay for the rest of my Korea trip. Luckily, I found this gem and it was comfortable being here. It was clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Amenities were decent, not beyond a standard hotel. They have a washing machine in the room luckily, but you have to buy your own detergent from what it seemed. Good thing 7-11 was right outside the hotel! If you use the train/bus, it is a bit of a walk to get there which can talk 5-10 minutes, but not too bad! Right now, there is a lot of construction being done next to the hotel, so you may have to detour around it to get into the hotel. Also, if you’re a light sleeper, you may hear the construction in the morning. Overall, I would come here again!
Located in the Dongdaemun district, the hotel is just a minute’s walk from a nearby seafood market & across Travelodge hotel. The surrounding neighborhood has a few eateries and attractions, but it requires some walking to reach Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. The stretch from Euljiro 4(sa)-ga Station to the hotel is lined with shops selling doors, faucets, and other household items, along with the usual convenience stores like CU, GS25, and 7-Eleven. Myeongdong is fairly close—just two train stops away (a 5–6 minute ride).
Bringing luggage can be challenging due to the lack of escalators in the station and the approximately 10-minute walk to the hotel. However, we found exits 7 and 8 particularly useful, as they remain underground, providing shelter from rain or snow, and lead to street level with less than a one-minute walk to the hotel.
The hotel was overall clean. Although it was supposed to be spring during our stay, the weather was highly unpredictable, with temperatures ranging from 1°C to 10°C. The AC control was a bit confusing—while the translation was understandable, only hot air came out regardless of the temperature setting. After contacting hotel management via WhatsApp, we learned that during winter or cold weather, only the heater function is available, so we had to open the windows slightly to regulate the temperature.
The hotel provides UK-style sockets, and the toilet seats are heated (a nice touch!), but the bidet function wasn’t fully operational—only the female bidet setting worked, so adjustments were needed. The tea was particularly good, and they replenished it daily, except on our last day when they didn’t provide more. Laundry is available above the 8th floor, with 2 washing machines & 2 dryers. Both machines requires 1000 Won coins & a machine to change paper notes.
Staff are available from 9 AM to 11 PM, so plan accordingly. For assistance or information outside these hours, you can contact them via WhatsApp, Line, or KakaoTalk. Overall we had a good stay, clean, friendly & helpful staff. Locality was ok but if you want instant access to eateries & other POIs maybe you’ll want to reconsider.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Western Coop Hotel & Residence Dongdaemun and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.
Location:
The hotel is perfectly situated . It’s conveniently close to major attractions and just a short walk from excellent restaurants and shopping areas.
Check-In:
The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
Room:
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated.
Overall Experience:
Overall, my stay at the Riverside Hotel was not bad.i would rate it 3.8/5.
Pros:
- good location, near metro station
- ample room size
- the room has big windows
- unlimited water bottles can be requested at front desk
Cons:
- room makeup service provided by request only
- strange bathroom design, water flows to the sink area when showering because the floor is flat across the shower area and the rest of the bathroom area.
- the door does not lock if you just let it close by itself. You need to push/ pull the door firmly to lock it.

Quiet hotel. Not much outside noise. Hotel room is literally just room, bathroom and beds. Don’t expect for chairs or table inside the room. You will have a pleasant stay if you are not expecting anything more.
Location was great and in the middle of everything. Restaurants are available on below floors. Shopping street and street food are steps away from the door.
The stars on the hotel ranking says it all.
There are no slippers in the room, thick dust and various debris under the bed, but the price is a bit cheaper, four or five minutes away from Dongdaemun Historical and Cultural Park subway station.
Stayed for 3 days, I booked a total of 5 rooms, all with windows and without amenities (which cost 2kw each set). The decoration is amazing in an old-school Hong Kong style I guess. Unfortunately, the last room of my booking was quite small (the room was just a little bit bigger than a king bed), and I had to store my luggage under the bed. Though the hotel is spotless, they have a scale for travelers to measure their bags. I tried almost every restaurant near the hotel and they all tasted amazing and affordable. The hotel is also near many bus stops and mrt exit (but it does not have an elevator so who choose the bus instead). The hotel also has a washing and heating machine. 100% gonna stay again.

The Hotel booking on Trip.com was really discounted, down to around HK$500 per night. So I thought the hotel would be quite bad. I had zero expectations upon arriving, but then I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The decor was quite quirky. The room was quite clean, the bathroom was incredibly large. And most of all, the location was amazing. Highly recommend.

Very Good
GGuest UserLocationwise very good, central to subway Cityhall and close to shops and restaurants.
Service by reception also very good 👍
However. Disappointed by apartment unit, i feel its style over practicality. The unit is very narrow and does not have a lot of space. Why put in a indoor ‘garden’ over a seating/sofa area in front of the tv?
Beds are hard and not very comfortable, the AC unit was not consistent and blowing cold air during sleep.
Not a lot of cupboards and no hooks for storage.
Family of 4 was struggling with available space which is intended for 6 persons.
WWongChristieWhat an amazing experience that’s exceeding our expectations! Room was not that spacious (which we knew beforehand) but our 29” suitcase can still open. The room is so clean and well equipped. Toilet was a bit small, that only allowed one person to fit in each time. Shower was very strong which was good. Staff were friendly. Lobby is well equipped with money exchange machine, self help tuck shop, free hot tea, weigh for suitcases. Overall a fantastic experience! Would love to visit again :)
GGuest UserGood price for a nice hotel with great location (central location). Room nicely decorated and efficiently designed. Small window that can open. Street view. Staff at the reception 24h/7.
AAnnieIt is clean and newly opened in 2024
Location: 3 mins walk to Chungmuro train station,10 mins walk to Myeongdong shopping street. The breakfast area is on the high floor, view of Namsan and Seoul Tower. There are restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby.
Breakfast is simple food, not much variety. The hotel only provides body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. You have to bring your own toothbrush.
3 minutes walk to the bus station where you can take the airport shuttle coach from/to Incheon airport that costs won 17000 per person
AAnonymous UserThis place’s location is just amazing! The ground floor has access to a coffee shop and convenience store, when you go around the area there are a lot restaurants and cafes too. Not only that, the basement floor has direct access to the train station that goes to Line 3 and 4! It’s just a station away from Myeongdeong, but you can also Aside from the amazing location, the room we had was compact but has a lot of what we need! It’s still spacious given that we have 6 luggages in total. We definitely used the washing machine a lot since we only brought a few clothes for the winter. If we ever need anything (ie. Plastic bags for trash), it was very easy to contact the staff in charge. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Seoul!
EEUNBHINThere was a little error in the reservation process, so there was a little extra money, but the boss explained it well and upgraded the room, so I spent a good schedule in a convenient location with good accessibility. I hope the new business is also good ^^
