Disappointing Service on Our Wedding Night – Not Worthy of a 5-Star Reputation
I had high expectations when booking Shilla Hotel for my wedding night on March 8th, but unfortunately, the experience left me shocked and disappointed.
Upon arrival, my wife and I opted for valet parking at 35,000 KRW, expecting a smooth service in line with the hotel's luxury standards. However, when retrieving our car the next day, we were told to wait 15-20 minutes, despite already having paid. Since we had to meet our parents, I politely expressed my concern about the long wait. Instead of addressing my question, the staff completely ignored me and started assisting other guests, making me feel disrespected and unheard.
I understand that retrieving a car can take time, but what is the point of paying a premium valet fee if I have to wait this long? If I knew, I would have simply picked up my car myself. Being understaffed is not the guest’s problem, and it certainly does not justify ignoring a paying customer. This is not the level of service expected from a five-star hotel.
After filing a complaint, the hotel offered to refund the valet fee, but does that compensate for the rudeness and the wasted experience on such an important night? I did not choose a luxury hotel for my wedding night to be treated with indifference and disrespect.
For a hotel of this reputation, I expected better service, professionalism, and guest care. If you are considering staying here for a special occasion, I highly recommend reconsidering, as hospitality and respect seem to be lacking.
