Hotels near Dogok Park, Seoul

This was my first time visited Korea, and I stayed in this hotel on 31 may-5 june 2023. I was got confused on the first time I arrived because I can't find the reception and it was no staff standby to assist and directing. Apparently, the lobby area is on the 4th floor (press L in the lift). The first floor is only the bakery shop and concierge (but nobody was there when I arrived). And no any signage either. The lobby area is modern and has a good interior. All of the staffs are all well mannered, friendly and helpful, some even speak good English. The room size is not too big, but still fair. I like the bathroom with shower head. it was clean and the lighting of the room is good. But unfortunately, the main reason I chose this hotel in this area was because I want to have a room with Han River view. It was named 'Standard Han River View Double Room', so I had a huge expectation it would really provided a good view of Han River. In fact, the building was not directly face to Han River (a little bit cross 45 degree) and was blocked with other higher surrounding buildings. and most disappointing, it doesn't have a full wide window, the window was separated by a thick wall in the middle. (I forget to took a proper photo, so I screenshot from my video to my boyfriend). I asked the staff whether we could have a room with full wide window and he said that all rooms' window configuration are all same. so i feel my hussle was really in vain to intentionally move to another hotel since my previous hotel located much more strategically to my itinerary (and actually has a bigger room size and cheaper -- i consider this is more expensive because of the brand and the location). The hotel location itself is actually very convenience because it has a direct bus stop in front of, and Yongsan station is literally across the hotel. Another good point, it also has 24 hour of coin laundry in the building (cost 3,000 won for laundry and 3,000 won for dryer). u can directly buy the detergen+softener for 1,000 won in the vending machine in the laundry room. Overall besides the Han River disappointing expectation, i can say that my stay experience here was lovely. The cleanliness of room, helpful and fluent English staffs were all great.

Friendly and helpful staff. Near chungmuro station and 1 stop away from Myeongdong. Easy access pantry and unlimited drinking water. Shower curtain should be added, top cabinet above where cooking used to be done should be remove as it is dangerous. Overall good 👍

Location: First of all, it was located in front of the bar of Chungmuro Station, so the accessibility was very good! As soon as I got off the station, it was easy to find because it was right there, and it was easy to move to the subway. In addition, there are many food nearby, so I ordered it to be delivered in the evening. At night, I went out with my friends and played in my favorite bar. 🍻 Room interior, cleanliness: First of all, the room stayed in a room for three people, but it was wider than I thought, so three people went to sleep. It was enough, very neat and clean. There was also a table, so it was easy to eat, and it was okay to bring a laptop and see the work! The bathroom is clean and Netflix is available (you need to use your own ID). There is a washing machine, induction, and sink, so you can cook and wash! (I haven't used it, but,) it was just new and tidy because the bathroom was just built. Is it a little unusual that the sink is on the outside? It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't as noisy as Hongdae or Sinchon. It was nice to be quiet at night, not like a noisy downtown area, but because of its good accessibility and location, it was convenient to use public transportation and places to eat or cafes around. It was nice to have a lot! I stayed with my friends, but I think it would be suitable if you are looking for a place to stay for long-distance business trips or business purposes.. !

I had a 24 hour layover in Seoul and chose this hotel based on the proximity to Seoul Station. From Incheon, the train journey is about one hour to Seoul Station. Fortunately, the hotel is less than a five minute walk from Exit 12. There is a slight hill, but it’s moderate and not overwhelming. The staff were super pleasant and offered to take my luggage up. I declined since I only had a carry-on, but note there is no elevator in this hotel. Don’t expect opulent space. The rooms are compact, but comfortable. As is typical in Seoul, the bathroom includes the sink, shower and toilet - there’s no separation of the shower. I slept comfortably and the streets are quiet during the night. I only paid $40 for the night so it’s certainly easy on the wallet. As far as location, it’s a walker’s dream. Seoul Station connects to high-speed rail as well as metro lines. Myeongdong is about a 30 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of eateries around including those at Seoul Station. If you’re a budget traveler or low maintenance, I highly recommend this place.

Located in the vibrant Mapo district, the hotel offered easy access to popular attractions and public transportation. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and efficient staff at the reception desk. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff members were helpful in providing information about the hotel amenities and local area. They were also accommodating in fulfilling my room preferences and ensuring a pleasant stay. The room I stayed in was clean, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were of good quality, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The room featured modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a safe for securing valuables. The complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi was reliable and allowed me to stay connected throughout my stay.

We stayed here as a group of six girls! There aren't many hotels that can accommodate six people, so it was very helpful. The room was two bedrooms. 1. Double bed with closet and hangers. 2. Two double beds with closet and shelf for luggage. The closet in room 2 had no place to hang hangers, so it was a little inconvenient. When you opened the door to the entrance, there was no place to put everyone's shoes, so we laid plastic nearby and put our shoes there. There were two refrigerators. We all bought a lot of yogurt and other things, but we were able to fit them in with no problem. However, the refrigerator was in the door next to the table and chairs, so you need to move the chair when opening and closing it. In room 1, we could keep our medium-sized carry-on bags open, but in room 2, we could only fit 2-3 medium and large-sized bags. The front desk staff didn't speak Japanese, but they were very helpful! It was about a 5-minute walk from City Hall Station. It was about a 15-minute walk to Myeongdong. There were Seven-Eleven, Starbucks, Oryang, and a wowpass machine in a nearby hotel, so Rich was very good.

My 80 year old father and I had a good stay at the Fairfield Marriott on our last night in Seoul. Check in was easy, the elevators are high tech detecting your room floor when you hold the key to the hub, but the rooms are small. There's a sliding door separating the bathroom from the bedroom, but the bathroom is at the front of the room to include the door for entry. Essentially if you're on the toilet and your family/friend has left the room, you'd have to yell out to keep them from entering while on the throne. Not a big deal for overnight but for a longer stay that might be problematic. Also, said door is not quiet, so getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom requires you to make noise to slide the door closed. The room was otherwise nice. The bed was firm, the shower was good and had wash clothes. There's two hooks for hanging towels after you've used them which I think is golden. The breakfast buffet is just okay. There are plenty of food restaurants across the street from the hotel. We also had a Thai massage in that area. Oh, the slippers are really cheap, as seen in a pic... Lol.

Overall it was a decent stay at the GM JS boutique especially for the price. Service and amenities were standard - staff were polite & hotel room had the basic amenities you need…there’s extra charge of 1000 KRW if you use the toiletries though, ie shampoo, toothbrush, etc… One thing we noticed when we entered though was the smoke smell, perhaps it had something to do with ventilation or pipes.. it was gone the day after. It was also quite dusty so our all allergies were definitely triggered for the first few days… it would be great if the room could be cleaner as well, there were some blotches on the wall/cabinet. In terms of location, it’s near a lot of restaurants, convenience stores, bus & subway station, which was good. If you’re planning on going around tourist areas, ie Hongdae, Myeongdong, Gangnam, area, the location is quite far though. When we tried to take taxis back to our accommodation, some refused as they say they don’t plan to go that far… Size of the room was quite good, spacious enough for 2 people and open up your luggage. There’s a study table with chair and a small coffee table with chair. Bed was quite comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious with a smart toilet (seat is also heated) & bidet. Would recommend this hotel for a budget friendly one & good for the price!

The environment of the hotel is probably good, and the environment of the hotel rooms is good. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and sometimes a little water flows out during the shower. The room space is large, and it is no problem to open a 75L. There are 2 sofa chairs to sit on. The hotel is surrounded by more tree space. It's just that Guangming is relatively remote, and can be reached by KTX, airport bus, and subway. The pace of life throughout the day is slow, and it feels a bit like retirement life. If you are tired of playing in Seoul, you can experience retirement life in Li Guangming. Please be careful when taking the Line 1 subway, as the subway schedules vary. Not all subway trains arrive at Guangming Station. The surrounding stores close around 2130, so only convenience stores are open at night. There is a large department store nearby, Lotte Mall, which you can visit. Please pay attention to the store's business hours. Pretty good location and surroundings for Kintex travelers. Room is ok with nice partial Han river view. Hyundai premium outlet mall is just 5min walking distance. yet. Bad attitude female staff with arrogant manners.
