Seattle Gaslight Inn

This is a charming accommodation in a very interesting part of the city. Our room on the third floor was well appointed and beautiful. Plenty of storage, comfortable bed, air conditioning was a blessing on an unusual 90 degree day.The pool in the back was wonderful. There is a shared bath which we knew about when we booked and we never had to queue up for it. (We did not realize however that it was one floor down, a bit of a nuisance for us septuagenarians.) The Inn is just a short walk to the lovely Volunteer Park and closer than that a number of useful retail stores and restaurants and just a block or two north of the PIke/Pine corridor which leads you downtown with gravity on your side. Common rooms are handsome and make for good resting places as one awaits the room. Ryan and Noelle were both extremely friendly and helpful - giving good directions, making excellent recommendations for things to do , places to eat, stores where we could buy things we needed, A few concerns : 1)most people arriving from the East are landing early, much earlier than the room is ready. There really should be a public restroom 2) the establishment is promoted as a bed and breakfast. There is always fruit, yogurt, cold cereal, coffee but nothing warm or savory; there is a toaster but nothing offered to use it for. 3) although a parking pass is provided it is hard to find a space. Ryan did point us to the Kaiser Permanente garage about a block away and not overly exspensive. Although we only got to use the pass the inn provided once we were surprised that this was not complimentary.All in all though the Gaslight is a fine place (although by no means inexpensive!) and we would recommend it to others.

Capitol Hill stay 4 nights Loved our room and the view from it. Lovely pool area. Great healthy breakfast options too! Good location. Ryan was super friendly.
