Ye Olde Ship is ideally located in the heart of Seahouses. There is no parking (except for blue badge holders) at the pub but that is no problem as there is a large public car park within a few minutes walk. We paid £31.50 for 3 days parking as a block, and came and went as we pleased. The breakfast is comprehensive and the full English was ample and very generous. The general food menu is traditional pub fayre with other restaurant choices in Seahouses if you want something different. The varied choice of cask ales I also found particularly pleasant. There are 10 rooms across the first and second floor. It is a very old pub so the access is stairs only and the rooms are compact, but perfectly functional with all that we needed. Access to the jetty for the various boats that provide trips is only a short walk from Ye Olde Ship. There are boat trips for sunset cruises, to Holy Island and to Inner Farne. We did each of these cruises and saw fantastic bird life and sea life, as well as the islands fascinating history. We pre-booked 2 of the trips which was a wise choice as the weather was great and trips on the day sold out very quickly. We would certainly stay at Ye Olde Ship again.

The place is a bit query but that added to the charm. The food was better than expected. We will return when we visit the area again.

We were very disappointed with our stay. when we first arrived ,we were told there is no car parking and you have to use the public car park, which was a good 5/10 minutes from where we stayed, at £10 50 a day, on top of our stay. We also had a leaking roof at one point ,and was told it happens sometimes ,and given towels to mop it up .was not happy with meals ,no one came to see if all was ok . Arrived back one afternoon from a day out needed toilet and cup of tea there was NO RUNNING WATER in room husband had to go and ask for bottled water as they only gave us sparkling water in room. Breakfasts were awful, hard eggs burnt bacon and sausage was burnt ,seems like they could not be bothered with us. No one at reception to ask if all was ok .All in all a very bad experience and disappointing break for us both. we were looking forward to our time away as we had not long lost husbands mother ,and another member of family ,and the first time we had been able to spend time way together for over a year .Staff were hit and miss on how nice they were. Would not return .

Delightful room at the end of the first corridor, which had a fabulous view of the end of the harbour and Inner Farne. Although positioned over the bar this did not affect our sleep, though on noisier nights it might be a bit louder from below...The four poster could have been a gimmick, but the hanging was perfectly clean and the mattress comfortably firm. Oldstyle dark furniture perfectly in keeping with the style of the Inn. Bathroom spotless, towels fluffy, and it had a bath (also a shower), which personally I prefer. A pleasure to sit in the bay window with a cuppa and watch the world go by, after some time in the characterful and cosy bar

My wife & I have just had 2 brilliant nights at The Old Ship. We were in room 2 which had a fantastic 4 poster bed and a lovely view of the harbour whilst sat in the bay window. If there was a minor issue the shower in the bath is not very “ elderly with deteriorating joints “ friendly. Both breakfast and evening meal were of the highest quality as were the staff in the dining room and bar.
