APA Hotel Sapporo Odori Ekimae Minami

I used this hotel on my first trip to Hokkaido. It's relatively easy to get to and reasonably priced, so I'd definitely use it again!

The rooms are clean and there is a large public bath, which is great.

The carpet in the room smelled bad. The room number on the door was broken. The atmosphere was gloomy. The front desk and restaurant staff were unenthusiastic. I would never stay here again.

The hotel is located in the heart of Sapporo, a short walk from Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It's also close to Odori Park, the TV Tower, and the Clock Tower, all within easy reach. A subway is also nearby. While the rooms are small, they have everything you need, including a refrigerator, TV, dressing table, and wardrobe. There's a convenience store across the street, making it convenient for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel also offers a buffet breakfast with a wide variety of options.

It took more than 10 minutes to walk from Odori Station on a snowy road. However, it took about 3 minutes to get to the Odori Park venue where the Snow Festival is held. It took more than 10 minutes to get to the Susukino venue. It seems that renovation work is being carried out until June of this year. The round light on the ceiling was old and the room was dark. The layout is strange. The TV is on the desk, so if you sit in a chair you have to watch it right next to you, so it's difficult to see, so the only way to see it is to sit on the bed. At breakfast, there were water droplets on the tray and plates, so it seemed like they hadn't been wiped properly. I tried another one, but it was the same. However, it was nice that there was hairy crab, which is typical of Hokkaido. The staff at the front desk and breakfast venue were all kind.

Although the lack of lighting made it a little dim, the location is convenient, with Tanukikoji and Susukino nearby, so you won't have any trouble finding places to eat, drink, or shop. Behind the hotel, there is a convenient parking lot that can accommodate 50 cars, but it is on a first-come, first-served basis. Postscript: I had the opportunity to stay there 9 months later, and the lighting in my room had been increased and the dimness had been eliminated. I don't know about the other rooms, though.
