Timedrops Santorini Villas

Timedrops was amazing. Authentic and full of character in a little village away from the hustle and bustle of the main towns and cruise ship visitors. The rooms are set within the castle area of Emporeio so you get a real feel of what the traditional places are like. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The pool was refreshing and sparkling. Nicholas, the manager, is very helpful and booked our transfers, boat trip and rental car for us. The steps are quite steep so elderly, very young or less able may struggle. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Timedrops to anyone wanting a quiet, comfortable stay away from the main towns

We spent 1 week in this beautiful village back in October. The Villa had a beautiful private pool, was well located within a small village, had private parking, and a wonderful host (Nikos). We enjoyed being away from the crowds of Oia/ Fira, and instead enjoy the proximity to local wine villages and the stunning volcanic beaches of Perissa. The Lidl supermarket was 10min drive away, we loved our stay and had a wonderful holiday.

We stayed at Timedrops for 4 nights. The villa was lovely and clean. We had water, juice and waffles left for us. Niko was very friendly and helpful though check in was lengthy. The pool was absolutely freezing and had flies and bugs floating in it. Could do with a net so guests can fish them out! We were unable to use it. It’s a shame where these villas are situated as the area of Emporio is not very nice. Lots of derelict unused buildings,streets covered in dog and cat poo. After dark we stayed in as didnt feel safe. Dogs coming at you barking and growling. Local restaurants not nice. We walked to Perissa beach(took around 30 mins). Lovely beaches with lots of food choices. Take the bus to Fira, book a table and watch the beautiful sunset. If we ever visit this island again we would stay in Fira or Oia.

We arrived at Timedrops after a long day of travelling and no one was there to greet us. After a few minutes the manager (Nico) pulled up in his car with another couple who were staying at the villas. I assume he collected them from the airport whereas we got a taxi. Nico very kindly helped us into the reception with our luggage along with the other guests. He requested some details from us on a lengthy form, which bearing in mind it was 12:30am isn’t something we really needed to do there and then. Whilst we were filling out said form, Nico disappeared for a good 30 mins. He had gone to collect one half of another family staying the villas, then went back again for the other half. It’s now 1am, and as kind and friendly as Nico is, this is not an acceptable time to be telling us what there is to do on the island. He kept talking and talking until 1:30am!! FINALLY time to check in to our villa……Nico took us on a 5 minute walk to the Kallisti Courtyard Suite. Now I’d recommend you email Timedrops before you stay to find out which villa you are staying in. If you are unfortunate enough to be in the same villa as us request to be moved. Honestly, it’s in the middle of a building site. Danger signs everywhere. And it’s so far away from the reception and other villas, the steps up to the villa also are lethal!! Once in our villa, Nico continued to talk. Now 2am. We would’ve been so happy to listen and talk to him all morning the next day, but not at 2am after a day of travelling. At first looks, the villa seemed lovely. The shower didn’t work, one of the bathroom taps was literally hanging out and the whole place just needed some TLC. The pool area was disgusting. Nico wasn’t hardly at the reception to complain to, nor did he answer is WhatsApp messages (which he said is the best way to contact him). As for Emporio itself, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. As beautiful as the churches and castle are, it’s totally out of the way of the beauty the island really has to show. My partner and I rarely ventured out after dark as we didn’t feel safe. We were meant to be staying at Timedrops for two weeks but we were so so disappointed that we’ve checked out of there over a week early and moved to a different part of the island and villa. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LUXURY HOLIDAY.
