Excellent hotel for couples who are not on a tight budget. We had a great stay and would definitely come back. Located a 5 min walk from Megalochori village and centrally located about 10-15 min drive from Fira or the airport. They use a driver service which is generally 20-30€ each way to various destinations. Renting a car would be cheaper if you are making multiple trips per day. The hotel is immaculate and well maintained. It is located on the cliff edge of the Caldera and the sunsets are spectacular (we didn't bother going to Oia to see them). The location is very safe and quiet. The room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. As with all locations in Santorini, the tap water is salty and hard overall so soap and shampoo don't go very far. They provide some bottled water but you would be best to get a few 1.5 L bottles and keep one in the room fridge at all times. The housekeeping was thorough, usually done while we were at breakfast. There is a pool and lounge area, which are nice but we were out and about too much to use them. Breakfast is included, but is à la carte and ordered the night before with a time that you specify. This allows the kitchen to prepare things for you without delays. The food was excellent, a typical range of things you might see at a European hotel breakfast buffet, but prepared individually and served to you at table or in your room if you prefer. Other meals can be arranged but we didn't try them. Staff are friendly and helpful. They offered recommendations for restaurants within walking distance that were reliable. It is a small hotel, and over 4 nights we got to know almost everyone. Sebastian at the desk and the chef (name forgotten, sorry!) in particular were great to deal with. A very minor suggestion: although walking to Megalochori is possible via a foot path that avoids the main road entirely, there are several paths or back roads that could be taken. It was not clear to us at first which one to take and we ended up going much further than we needed to. The correct path comes off the driveway to the hotel right next to where you turn from the main road. Although this was described to us, having a small printed map would have avoided some confusion. This issue did not detract at all from our experience.

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel for 7 days. Sebastian met us outside the hotel and took our suitcases and led us to reception. Before we checked in he offered us a cold drink which we had outside overlooking the fantastic sea view, a great start to our holiday. We were then shown to our room, which unbeknown to us had been upgraded to a junior suite, we were in Santorini celebrating a birthday and anniversary. We chose to have breakfast on our balcony overlooking the sea most mornings, at a time of our choosing. It was delivered on time and the choice was excellent. This is a small hotel with only 15 rooms, which suits us, every member of staff we spoke to couldn't do enough for us. One thing we did pick upon was that they all loved working at this hotel, it was a happy place. The outside space including the pool was very peaceful, well looked after and clean. There were always plenty of towels for the sun beds. One day i needed to go to a local pharmacy so I spoke to reception for directions. Kyriagos, the manager was concerned the walk there was down a busy main road with gaps in the footpath. He insisted he took me in the hotel minibus. It was very much appreciated, the road was quite busy. We decided to book a hire car for a couple of days. Kyriagos contacted a local car hire company and arranged it all for us, with the car being delivered to the hotel. We were also given a guide of all the best laces to visit on our travels. We had a wonderful holiday in Santorini and would highly recommend staying at this lovely friendly hotel. Well done team.

We loved everything about this hotel. Wonderful hotel staff, very knowledgeable and friendly. Every morning we had breakfast on our balcony looking over the beautiful caldera. It was amazing to see the beautiful sunset from our own balcony too! We loved the private and intimate atmosphere of this hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel next time we visit Santorini. Thank you for making our anniversary trip so memorable!

What can we say about this small hotel other than fantastic and thank you for making our first trip to Santorini so special. A really warm welcome at 1 o'clock in the morning with a lovely glass of desert wine. Very comfortable first night then offered an upgrade for the rest of the stay which was a fantastic gesture by the manager, Kyriagos, and although not asked for it was certainly appreciated. All the staff were great..we had breakfast bought to our balcony some mornings and sat near the pool on others. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and you could choose (night before) as much or as little as you wanted. We used the free shuttle from the hotel into Fira a couple of times and over to the beach on another occasion. We hired a car for a day, all arranged by Kyriagos, which I would definitely recommend to enable to see as much as this beautiful island as you can. We walked into the lovely village of Melalochori which has a number of pretty traditional tavernas and good food. Obviously don't miss out on the exquisite Fira and Oia which are both breathtaking. With tourism down 40% this year because of the tremors earlier in the year the main villages were not overcrowded and the atmosphere just lovely. This hotel is tucked out of the way and ideal if you like it quiet but remember on Santorini nothing is too far away. Facilities are great everything you need and more and the staff well just brilliant. The sunset views are as good as Oia and waking up to views of the Caldera are awesome. Thank you Kyriagos and all the team Charlie & Helen

My husband and I have just returned from this wonderful hotel. We cannot express how amazing the hotel manager and his team are! From the minute we arrived we were personally greeted and made to feel most welcome. Our room (no 10) was just as the photos... perfect decor and immaculately clean. The bed and pillows were of high quality that led to the most perfect sleep. Towels were heavy and fluffy and complimentary bathroom supplies were replenished daily of which suited my hair brilliantly! Even the hotel hairdryer situated in a perfect location by the bathroom mirror was preferable to using my own that seemed to overheat. Bathrobes and slippers were provided which is another great option when taking breakfast on your rooms balcony. Talking of breakfast, you have the option of having it delivered to your room or sitting at the tables set around the pool. We chose to enjoy the luxury of eating in our room. The options, quality and delivery of breakfast was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the kitchen staff happily accommodated the changes we requested. You complete a breakfast menu each day for the following morning allowing you to order as much or little as you need and to be delivered at a time of your choosing. How civilised! The hotel and area is small and intimate, perfect for couples who want peace! The views are spectacular including being in a prime position to enjoy spectacular daily sunsets. Finally, we just want to thank the hotel for making our holiday a perfect place to stay. Your staff are what makes this hotel so special

Honestly, this was the most wonderfully relaxing holiday I think I’ve ever been on and it’s 100% down to Caldera’s Dolphin Suites. The place is simple and elegant, clean and well maintained. The people are incredible from the experienced and knowledgeable reception staff to the friendly and welcoming catering team - nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is set on a cliff top with stunning views over the Caldera, Tholos national park, Thirasia and Oia in the distance. A breeze blows through keeping you cool whilst sunbathing by the pool. They say the best sunsets are in Oia but the sun setting over the Caldera from the poolside at Caldera’s Dolphin Suites hands down beat anything else we saw in the island. Stay here… you won’t regret it.
