I have the issue of sounding biased. We had two nights and had to leave after one night due to unfortunate circumstances. However, I do believe it is a reflection of the place. “All fur and no knickers” . It looks like a newly built taobao hotel. The location isn’t great up the hill but ok. Everything is kinda falling apart. The door to our terrace was half broke and then during the first night the bathroom door fell off leaving my wife stuck in the bathroom unable to get out. The design meant very hard for her to wake me up (it would be very dangerous for a single traveller to be stuck in there). Anyway, I reported this issue at 2 am and the front desk tried her best with her lack of English to help. However, the owner was a bit weird in that he firstly misled the time he would be which isn’t helpful in a stressful claustrophobic situation. He then seemed annoyed we’d woken him up/ wanted recognition for his effort even after my wife being stuck in a small bathroom for 45 minutes. Anyway, we decided to cancel our stay. Perhaps they will learn from this situation. Travelled many places around the world but I find it difficult to not say to avoid this. We had a great night at Bahia Hotel the next night. Overall, trying to be fair, I wouldn’t be misled by the photos, it’s a bit meh. Although the photos in the hallway were ironic as it has a trapped person and perhaps that experiential stay was their hope.
