Hotel predominately pitched towards older folk and coach tours. Dated decor both in the hotel and rooms generally. Rooms on top floor (4th) floor got very warm and uncomfortable when the weather was hot, avoid these in hot weather as there is no Aircon. Bathroom was nice. Window security latches in both our rooms were broken (see attached picture) so this isn't an isolated problem.. Wheelchair access is only via a small unlit entrance at the side of the hotel with no CCTV or floodlight so it was very dark in the evening (see attached picture). You push a button to ring a bell at reception and someone comes and lets you in.. but then this takes you straight through the restaurant when you get through the door which is not ideal!. Only 1 lift serves entire hotel of 4 floors. We were told in the restaurant a table was allocated for us to use, the coach tours had already been pre-allocated most of the other tables. Basically told tough you have to stay where we seated you for the next few days until the coach tours leave!. Breakfast again catering for senior guests, with a selection of soft fresh fruit options such as oranges, peaches, nectarines, selection of yoghurts etc, although a full English choice was available. Breakfast drinks were not chilled so the orange juice was warm if you came for breakfast a bit late. Overall food in the restaurant was average, including dinner. Again it was noticeable all the dinner options contained softer items of food, again obviously catering for the more senior guests at this hotel.

I have just returned from a four-night stay with a coach holiday company. There were three coach groups at the hotel during my stay. Overall, I think that I got value for my money. The bed was very comfortable, although I found the duvet too hot for July, and there was no drawsheet, so it was duvet or completely uncovered. The number of electrical sockets is not sufficient for the modern gadget-ridden traveller. Take a multi-plug adapter with you to solve this little problem. The room was hot with no air-con. The sea view was great. I especially liked going to sleep listening to the sea. Sound does travel easily from room to room, so bear in mind that you may be entertaining your neighbours! The bathroom was dated but very clean. The towels were soft, and the hot water was really hot! Housekeeping was very good, and I am not easy to impress on that score! The hotel is comfortable but dated and quite worn in places, and the lift is insufficient for the number of guests. The restaurant was very, very busy with three coaches in. Yes, it got noisy, but I like a chatty table! The service was prompt and friendly. The queue for breakfast was a little meandering and not helped by the layout of the self-serve area. The food is basic, certainly nothing fancy or memorable, but it was well prepared and enjoyable. Vegetables were not skimped on, which can be awkward when you are dining with others. Who wants to cause a scene fighting over a carrot baton? The step-free access in and out of the hotel is not up to modern standards, and at meal times and excursion times, you will have to wait a fair while for the lift. This is a 3-star hotel catering, mainly, for coach groups, which I imagine generate low profit margins, so with that in mind, I think they offered everything that I expected.

Just returned from 5 night coach holiday. The hotel is good, had a lovely sea view in our room. Room could have done with a bit of updating, especially the bathroom. The food was lovely, always a choice with plenty of vegetables, nice choice of sweets. The dining room was noisy , we asked to be moved to our own table from a big long table, they accommodated us with this request and we had our own table which was better. Staff didn't have time to chat, they always seemed far too busy! The big disappointment was the entertainment at night, it was dire, the one singer was terrible, no atmosphere in room whatsoever, because they didn't do bingo, most of guests didn't bother to go in entertainment room, so huge room was almost empty, counted about 20 or so people . It was so bad we went to other hotel one night, the Bayshore, which was better, room was better atmosphere! Stayed at the bayshore before, I would say better hotel than Trouville

Having just returned from short stay whilst on a coach holiday the hotel is in a good location across the road from the beach and very popular in the hot sunny weather. There are several good aspects to the hotel and several that could do with improving. The staff are very helpful in the bar and dining room. The dining experience is sometimes very rushed and sometimes chaotic but saying that the staff are very efficient and the food generally is very good with nice choices for both breakfast and dinner. The rooms are adequate and clean with plenty of hot water and efficient showers. Sometimes noisy from adjacent rooms though from thin walls. Would have been nice to have had use of small fridge in the room especially useful during hot weather. Now for some negatives there is only 1 lift that holds 4 people for a hotel that is on 4 floors so it caused a lot of congestion at times. Main problem is state of public rooms where the seating is disgraceful with ripped chairs and settees. Not good at all and should be priority to be replaced as does not do the hotel any favours at all. The entertainment is average but not much atmosphere and variety. Maybe introduce a quiz night so there’s more interaction. After saying all that the holiday was enjoyable but Trouville there’s room for improvement

Travelling in a coach party this hotel does cater for them. there were 3 different coaches on our visit. Our room had a "sea view" which was wonderful looking out on the water and seeing the changing beach as the tides came in and went. The food in the dining room was adequate considering the numbers that they were catering for. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals and, cooked if wanted. However, being June the duvets on the beds were more for winter. The room was serviced each morning and was always clean and tidy.

Very accommodative team at the hotel. All the staff were very helpful. Amazing location and conveniently placed for any bus journeys planned to other parts of the island. Sea view room truly made our day! Had no trouble at all.

Clean and tidy with the most stunning view of the whole of Sandown beach from the window. It was an ever-changing view...better than TV anyway. Good food, plenty of choice and variety. Staff welcoming and helpful. Only down side is no outside space but with the whole beach and esplanade in front maybe that's not a problem.
