El Golpe de Vista

This hotel offers a great view of the city and has a fantastic staff. However, it's not the best location for families; it's more suited for couples and solo travelers. The hotel features a restaurant with delicious food and drinks, but unfortunately, it's only open on weekends and has a limited schedule. If you plan on having all your meals at the hotel, this might not be the right choice for you. We chose this hotel because it was recommended for a wedding we were attending nearby. One of the factors that influenced our decision was its elevator, as my mother has knee problems and really needed it. When we arrived, the staff noticed my mom was using a walker and informed us, "Perdón, pero el elevador no está en servicio, pero ya vienen a componerlo." For nearly two days, the elevator was out of service, and the attentive staff seemed a bit shy when they spotted my mom coming down the stairs from the fourth floor. Since the hotel is small with only a few guests, the staff gets to know everyone pretty well. Fortunately, we discovered on Friday, just before the wedding, that the callejonada ended on the hotel's rooftop, and to our relief, the elevator was finally working! Despite the issues we encountered with the elevator and the lack of breakfast until Sunday, this hotel is great for couples and younger guests who want to explore and walk around the town of San Miguel de Allende. Overall, I would stay here again, though perhaps not with my mom.

We own a house on the same street and had dinner at Hotel El Golpe de Vista’s recently opened rooftop bar and restaurant last night. It was one of the best dinner experiences we’ve had in SMA. Located near the southern end of Parque Juarez, this small boutique hotel is absolutely beautiful and the view from the roof is incredible - everything has been designed and fitted out to a very high standard. We had planned to go for a drink, but liked it so much we ended up staying for dinner. The food was wonderful and the service was friendly and efficient. The same standard as a Rosewood or a Four Seasons Hotel, but more personal and much better value. We will definitely be back.

This is a small hotel of only 8 rooms. Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a nice sitting area. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower. The room was clean and the front desk staff was very helpful. The hotel is walking distance to many restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay here again.

I have been to this restaurant twice but never again. The first time was with a party of six. The second time was a party of four. Both times it was not busy AT ALL. NONE of us had a favorable experience. Their menu is rather limited so you would assume if you only offered like 7 items you would not BE OUT. (filet specifically). You would be wrong. Same goes for the wine. They must only keep a total of 3 bottles in inventory. Ridiculous. The food they did serve was right in the dead middle of mediocre and forgettable.. There are many much better restaurants here in SMA. Needles to say, enter at you own risk. On the positive side however, our recent waiter, Diego, was new on the job but handled it all admirably. Kudos to him.

Fabulous alternative to The Rosewood Rooftop, actually better in my opinion and even more fabulous space wise when going up. Headed back there tomorrow for another dinner. The Beet salad was amazing and the drinks were wonderful. Very highly recommended.
