San Diego Hotels with Bars

Very old hotel with dated rooms. The rooms are not good. I had to shift three times, and the front office staff handled the passport carelessly. Won't stay in this property again as I was not impressed with the room quality. Housekeeping is only available every three days—no staff to help to shift the luggage from room to room when I was moved. I booked a bay view room with a balcony, but they provided the first room, which has smelly rooms and no working aircon. Moved to another room without a bay view and, after a night, moved to another room on the eighth floor with a semi-bay view and balcony. Honestly was not impressed with the experience. No free water in the room. Wifi was not the fast.

A pretty large resort, but with personal attention by the staff. Ground were well appointed. The rooms were very well appointed, beds comfortable, people serving us were pleasant. Would never hesitate to recommend the place. Can't wait to go back. My only complaints as follows - the one bartender at the Tequila Bar definitely wasn't into serving people with a smile. I asked him what beer he had available and he said ”some domestics and some imports”, turned and walked away. That was a turnoff. The other people who served us over the 3 nights were all fine, but not him. Also, we were on the 15th floor, yet surprisingly we could hear conversations down in the pool area, and especially the music playing. I found that as being a little odd. That is the only reason for dropping it down from 5 stars.

There is only one restaurant in the hotel, which serves an American à la carte breakfast. The hotel location is good, in the middle of the gas lamp area, there are many restaurants around, suitable for food. 3 minutes walk to the tram stop. Hotel facilities are not new, but in the United States hotels are pretty good, the old five-star standard in China. The service was great.

It was our 30 year anniversary . We wanted to walk down memory lane . Doubletree Hilton was the perfect place to do so . The trolley is like 100 ft from the hotel , wow !!!! We were there for 4 days and we only spent $12 dollars on transportation the whole time . We went to the seaport village , old San Diego village , San Diego zoo , little Italy , the can even take you near to the gondola rides . This hotel is pet , kid , business , couple friendly . Restaurants , FedEx , food stores , right outside . Indoor outdoor pool , gym , jacuzzi , Starbucks . Isabella is an awesome receptionist !!! Knowledgeable , friendly . This hotel is carefully paced to give you the best indulgence of the area . Great job guys !!!!

We stayed here for a conference, but much preferred the hotel we stayed at the previous three nights that was less than half the price. This place was too superficially trendy and lacking in basic amenities. The shower faucet was broken and you had to twist it around at random to try to find warm water. The room thermostat was outdated and the A/C wasn't working. We realized it was actually heating the room (stuck at 89 degrees!) and we couldn't turn down the temp, so we shut it off entirely and left the balcony door ajar. Thankfully it was a cool evening, but there were loud people in the courtyard playing music until midnight. We tried to call guest services about the issues, but no one answered. There are sayings posted in the lobby and on the room keys (supposed to be clever or cutesy), but some were borderline offensive like ”Do twins ever realize one of them was unplanned?” Pool was nice, but other things weren't included - had to pay for parking ($25/night) and for breakfast, which we decided not to try at the hotel.

We loved the location. Family of four with 2 kids ages 9 & 10 loved the different pools and husband and I enjoyed the fire pits by the pool. The rooms were modern and up to date. The beds were not comfortable and the lack of pillows made it hard to sleep for someone who is used to minimum of 2 pillows per person. The views were amazing and a lot of exploring to do around the resort.

The hotel is located in the city center, like an old-fashioned standard hotel. The lobby is very beautiful and may be in disrepair. The slight downside is that the rooms are not newly renovated, but the facilities are complete. There are many attractions and restaurants nearby.

Poorly ran hotel. Restaurant closes on a whim even though we had a contract stating their hours. Strange homeless person roaming the halls with no action by staff, even after being alerted. No wash cloths again today. Cleaning service might do your room, might not. We asked for daily service. This place isn’t worth another stay.

The hotel is in a very good location, with large rooms, close to the bay and the city center. The hotel's public facilities are very good, and the service staff is very friendly. There is only one mirror in the bathroom, and there is no full-length mirror. There is no paper or pen in the room, which is inconvenient to write or take notes. There is no brush for cleaning shoes and clothes, etc. This should be improved for a five-star hotel.

As far as location, this was perfect for our Sea World and beach trip. There is a free shuttle to take you to Sea World, which made it convenient. The rooms were nice, but we had ants in the bathroom. If you don’t like hard pillows then I suggest you bring your own. You are charged a daily parking and resort fee, which I wouldn’t have minded had we actually been able to park right in front of our room. Unfortunately when we came, there was a Rolls Royce and Bentley event happening at our hotel where we could not park on our side and had to park our car clear on the opposite side of the hotel, which took 3 trips to bring our bags to the car. No discount on parking for this. It almost felt that they did not value any other guest when it came to this event. We paid the extra money to stay somewhere nicer and overall I felt it wasn’t worth it.
