Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria

Greeted by welcoming staff and a fruit cocktail late on a Thursday evening when we arrived. We had a suite with seaview at the end of a corridor which was just perfect. We spent most evenings just sitting on the balcony having a drink and watching life go by. We enjoyed the Reserve, breakfast and pool area. Especially the quiet relaxation, the buffet and drinks on offer throughout the day and the lovely waiting staff who were continually walking around the pool taking orders and tidying the area. It was much appreciated, especially the fruit kebabs, bottled water, fruit cocktails and ice creams that were offered around each day. My only concern is the food is left open and uncovered all day and not chilled adequately. The food was lovely but we ate when it was first put out. Reserve guests can also enjoy one of 3 short trips which includes transport. We visited the Rum Distillery in the north of the island and had a lovely couple of hours and plenty of rum! We spoke to other guests and they were unaware, so make sure you ask about the trips. Although I know some enjoy the benefits of the Circle program. We didn’t like the way the sales people hoovered around the Reserve entrance trying to engage in conversation and sell the Circle program. We spent time with a rep and was then blanked by the same person after declining the offer. The massage I received for listening to the sales pitch was the best I’ve ever had and would definitely recommend. We enjoyed lovely walks along the path in front of the hotel to the next beach. We walked for approx 90 mins but you could walk for longer. We also enjoyed daily walks up and down the beach each morning. We ate in the buffet for 1 dinner and lunch which we enjoyed but agreeing with others, it wasn’t 5*. Peseta the Michelin starred restaurant was nice to experience but wasn’t enthused by it. Our favourite was the Italian which we ate at 3 times. Thank you to Carla who secured a last minute reservation on our last night which we really appreciated and a lovely end to our stay. We ate well, drank well and had a lovely relaxing week.

Excellent , a complete paradise. The reserve área, restaurants, INFINITE pools , the team… absolutely perfect . For couples and also for families . Nice food , perfect for REST
