Aparthotel Cye Holiday Centre

On arrival the holiday centre was as photographed on the website, fresh, bright, airy and modernised. Apartments are spacious with 2 wide single beds pushed together in the main room which leads off on to an exceptionally generous size balcony. Plenty of room for kids to play, loungers and table and chairs etc. the bed in the hallway (pull down from wall) was comfy and great for my 9 year old son. The livingroom couches were also single beds and of good quality and wide enough, seem some very slim, thin ones before - these were very comfy although never slept in by us as my daughter had a cot.  Check in and out was seamless but be aware a deposit is taken (around £10 per night and given back at end of apartment is left satisfactory) so factor this in to your spends needed initially.  The thing that stood out for us as a family was the lovely man and his assistants who ran the kids club, entertainment, pool games and really engaged with the children despite his obviously long days. They are a credit to the hotel and I don’t think it would attract as many families if this small but important team weren’t on board - my son Jacob loved kids club and made some great friends for the week. Now is still recommend this hotel with given some recommendations to change things. The hotel caters to very large, roudy crowds of preteens/teens on school holiday stays. They are chaotic and woke our toddler several times, running through corridors screaming, taking up lift where pushchairs and wheelchair users should have priority and teens/groups managed more carefully as they would be if from anywhere else. Called to reception to complain and inform but was pretty much brushed off as they’re excited. Just not great for the rest of us also wanting to enjoy our apartment, sleep and have children. We waited an incredibly long time with 20-30 teens in front of us. I called down to reception one evening as they were shouting, banging and screaming in the halls. Some hotels do not cater to exceptionally large groups for this reason, especially when catering to family holidays also - I’d only stay again if I knew there was no large groups such as this booked to stay. We only ate breakfast the last morning as we preferred to go out to dinners etc as a social thing in the evenings with the children as we don’t drink alcohol much when have young children with us. Food was as expected in hotels, nothing bad to note and plenty of options which are the norm.  If you like quiet this hotel might not be for you. Po. Kew is loud due to entertainment although this didn’t bother us with it stopping at 11pm but the ‘quieter’ side facing out to the road/side was filled with already mentioned large groups of teens shouting back and forth to each other continually. Highly recommend checking if these school trips are on when booking if you like a quiet, relaxed family holiday (most of us do when we have young children). All in all the hotel is great location, good sized rooms and entertainment for much younger children but would be put off returning due to the issues mentioned.

We are just home from our first and last time visiting CYE Holiday Centre in Salou. On arrival the lady at reception ignored my wife and was very rude and should not be dealing with guests with her disinterested and rude demeanor. Bar staff also very slow and gruff with the exception of 2 girls working the bar restaurant area who were both nice and friendly. Also worth calling out the entertainers Chris and Pedro who were great with the kids. Now the part that really took the shine off our holiday, our daughter left her Pandor bracelet on the table in the apartment one evening before having a shower and going to bed. The next day we went to water park so she didn't wear the bracelet, we left around 10.30 and did not return until after 7pm. After showering and changing she couldn't find the bracelet. We searched the entire apartment but it was gone. I reported to reception who confirmed that cleaners were the only ones to access the room all day but to search again. The following morning after the staff checked with the cleaning manager they just stated that their staff do not steal. On Monday when the manager returned we followed up with her again, she got maintenance to check and confirmed the lock was fine and only the cleaner entered the room but would not accept responsibility and said it was our word against theirs and to report to the police, which I did but took several hours sitting in the police station. Also beside our room was a group of 5 girls in the early 20's, constant noise at night before they went out and then another racket when they would return around 6am. When reported to reception they might quiet down for a bit before going out, but was repeated the next night. On their last night they had a party on their balcony with others they brought back. After complaining to reception for the 2nd time that night a member of staff went up and told the non residents to leave which was around 1am.

Just back from a stay in the CYE holiday centre and will never return. Fist impressions weren't good. From female staff to male bar staff being very rude. Having to be down to the pool by 8.30 to get a sun lounger and there was a que at that stage. As all the sun loungers were gone by 9.10am. There was also a group of girls beside us who made alot of noise every night. The night before they left they had a party on the balcony which the hotel state in there 'house rules' no noise after midnight. Also about 5 days into our stay my daughters pandora bracelet was taken by a member of the cleaning staff. We did try to resolve this with management before leaving but they weren't interested. We did report it to the police. We will not return here.

Just spent a week at the cye holiday centre. Rooms are spacious , clean and have everything you need from a kettle and an iron to a mop and bucket. They also provide fairy liquid and cloth ( new in pack) maids are in everyday with toilet roll and towels. WiFi is free and decent, safe is €4 a day. Tourist tax is also mandatory but it wasn’t expensive ,like €15 for 3 of us. €80 deposit CASH needs paid on arrival that you get back on the last day after a maid has checked the room. We struggled everyday to get a bed at the pool by the time we got breakfast, the lifeguard will remove towels after 30 mins which is good, gives people a chance. 1 lifeguard is more strict regarding floats and balls in the pool , the other one doesn’t care but we only had him on the last day. Predo and cris are fab for the kids entertainment. Also send high praise to the waiting staff every one of them working from morning to late and night everyday and always had a smile on their face, in particular Jeff & Anna. We would defo return to the cye no complaints at all. Recommend house of illusions, kids talked about it for days after. PortAventura theme park is great , reminded us a lot of universal in Florida. Buy your tickets before hand by getting a discount on the Lidl plus app. Caribe waterpark was a bit of a let down, slides were fab but the rules were very strict regarding not being allowed to sit in a shallow kids pool with sunglasses or a hat on but will allow leaves and rubbish to float on the water.

First time in Salou, really enjoyed it. We went with 2 adults and 3 kids and slept in one of the basic rooms. Found the room to be near enough perfect for us although not ideal that one of the kids were sleeping on a pull out bed at the front door. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Was offered a pool view on arrival but we declined and actually glad we did. Was quieter when going to the room and we actually got a view of Port Aventura in the evening when all the fireworks and drone shows were going off which was quite cool. Staff were all really friendly, in particular a few servers and of course the entertainers Pedro and Cris. Honestly cannot speak highly enough of them. If you happened to be reading this, you will probably forget me but we will not forget you. Entertainment almost every day and night to suit the kids and adults. Lots of free drinks (soft drinks and cocktails) to be won. I would recommend this hotel based off the entertainment alone. Pool was nice and to be honest we never found any great difficulty in getting a sun bed. Usual people down first time but we always managed to find time to have breakfast and then get a bed. We were bed and breakfast. Food was good but not perfect. Did find a lot of the sausages had a small bit of pink on the inside, so I assume they were undercooked. All the sweet stuff was brilliant though. We ate dinner via the bar menu a lot and found the food to all be excellent. Location is great, a short walk from shops and the main road and beach. I would recommend you consider staying at this hotel if you are reading this review.
