1 night business stay It’s a decent bed and room, and is value for the cost, you can’t expect more for the price Girls in the pub/restaurant where really friendly

Pre booked and paid for Christmas Day dinner for my sister and son. At £40 a head was a really good deal. Appeared to be an absence of staff on arrival. One lady and get child serving food and a chef on the hot plate. After being seated in the restaurant we waited over 20 minutes for service so went to the bar to look for someone. A really nice lady came out from the kitchen and explained they had sickness so there was only the two of them. We had ordered the vegetarian option which came undercooked and cold. Vegetables were literally the dregs of the hot plate. We didn’t stay for dessert. We were told we did not have to pay for one of the drinks as goodwill for the service (the two glasses of Prosecco were flat anyway).. The restaurant was grubby we were seated next to dead flies, cobwebs and broken old Christmas decorations and the place needed a good old clean. I requested a refund from the absentee manager today, after describing our experience, and have been told that I won’t be getting one as everyone else on the day was happy and we were clearly the problem.In the response I have been accused of being rude to the staff (which couldn’t be any further from the truth) We actually felt sorry for how they had been left on the day and told them so ,also that we were going to drive off (strange comment to make as I paid in advance!) Don’t expect a sincere apology as you won’t get one. Unprofessional narcissistic management who won’t accept criticism and feedback,who also needs to learn some customer service skills when dealing with negative feedback. Fortunately, I paid by credit card so will be getting my money back that way.

Very bad night stay When first arrived the room was freezing cold window cracked in the bedroom mould in the bathroom mould in the shower food was not very good the pathway to the back of the pub was dark no lights and was not very inviting the heating made load knocking noise es all night had to ask for toilet roll booked 2 nights only stayed 1 night couldn’t stay another night

Quiet restafter long drives and days Warm welcome from Dilip, took me to where the room was early, as I was on business and did not know what time I would be back that night, showed me everything. Very nice guy. Very good ,freshly cooked breakfast. Superb freshly cooked Chicken Korahi curry with home made naan etc. Totally delicious. Room was fresh, hughe king size bed, TV. Shower and bath. Quiet, comfortable and I enjoyed the hospitality of the bar too. Met Dilips business partner, another fine guy. There is renovation to the property going on and it will soon look a lotbetter from outside,once the stripped out debris goes from the carpark, but thatis cosmetic. Would stay again. Highlight being HOT, not lukewarm water, as in many establishments. Excellent value for the money. Will be back!

Average We didn’t know until we arrived that it is under new management. It definitely is a work in progress. Having said that the staff including the manager were excellent. However the place is quite tired and scruffy particularly upstairs. The bar area is ok, looks recently sorted out. The bedroom needed decorating although the bed was comfortable and bedding was clean. It was curry night so apart from chicken nuggets and fries curry was the only choice which was disappointing. Outside the property needs cleaning and tidying up and the windows need cleaning. However we do wish the new management all the best for the future.
