The location is good, in the center of the town, the historical buildings are beautiful, but the maintenance is a little poor, and the room decoration and furnishings are also relatively ordinary. lovley room old building and the heating was on good condition with near to bus stop home will stay longer hopefully next time thanks 😊 liked the old building and the history not sure if it was used for the days as a coach stop/something on those lines 😀

Entering through the gate, it is an open-air coffee shop surrounded by green plants covering the walls. In the warm afternoon, it is very pleasant to chat and drink coffee with friends in twos and threes. Entering from the door on the right hand side is the front desk of the hotel. The stairs are relatively narrow, and the hotel rooms are relatively large and clean. The breakfast is a traditional English breakfast.

I had high hopes for this hotel as it is a really nice old building with a lovely courtyard and many historical features. The courtyard is a lovely spot for a drink. I am sure there are some lovely rooms here too, but unfortunately we were not given one of them. The room we had was number 72 which looked out onto the street, and also what we didn't realise until later, an OPEN AIR nightclub! I realise this is a city centre location and a certain amount of noise can be expected, but this is an open air nightclub playing loud music until 3am! There was then revellers and drunks in the street yelling and shrieking until at least 4am. Honestly you wouldn't believe it unless you witnessed it! We had literally 3 hours sleep maximum. I'm not one to complain usually but had to say something to reception in the morning. I was seeking a refund because really these rooms are not fit for purpose on a Friday or Saturday night. I am waiting a response from the hotel and BWH as this is unfortunately unacceptable.
