The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas

The property had nice big rooms with a lot of space. I think the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is undeniably the best I have seen. They are kind courteous and waiting to help. Nobody could have been nicer and nobody could have tried to help us more. I really enjoyed my stay and I LOVED the botanical tour! Such a nice experience. I would return in a minute. Thank you to the staff who made our experience memorable

Lemme tell ya somethin’. I’m Michael Lindhagen — born in Bayonne, built my empire brick by brick. I don’t travel to get away, I travel to be seen. And The Ritz down in the Virgin Islands? Fellas, this was the real deal. From the second I pulled up, it was class. I’m talkin’ the kind of service that makes you feel like you’re still in charge — even in swim trunks. Staff treated me with respect, not like some tourist in a fanny pack. They knew the name. Mister Lindhagen this, Mister Lindhagen that — as it should be. The suite? Ocean view, baby. I opened those curtains like Tony lookin’ over Jersey. The air smelled like money and sea salt. We’re talkin’ marble floors, linens softer than my cousin Frankie’s handshake, and a balcony where I sipped espresso like I was in Napoli — except I wasn’t, I was somewhere even hotter. Food? Bellissimo. Drinks? Flowin’. Wifey got the full spa treatment, and me? I sat under the sun like a Don in exile — but the good kind. The respectful kind.

Jabari and everyone at the hotel was great, customer service is amazing. I highly recommend it here. We had a wonderful time!!!

I would say that if this was billed as a standard hotel with more standard pricing id probably give it 4 stars, but being that this is a ritz carlton and you are paying ritz prices it is very sub par. We will start with the positives: Rooms are clean Beds are really comfortable The club lounge is very nice and the club lounge staff were generally nice. The pools are nice and very warm. The cabanas are nice but a touch overpriced. The crew on the snorkel boat were great and the snorkeling trip was amazing Negatives: While there were certainly nice and helpful staff, at least 50% of the staff have a subtle attitude. Whether it be the guy at the snorkel gear sucking his teeth when asked nicely for snorkel gear or being told by a concierge (your bellman was here waiting for you). This is not the type of service you expect The cleaning staff is completely unreliable, cleaning the rooms and sometimes forgetting to leave towels or showing up to the room at 9:30 at night. At one point i entered the room and was followed by a cleaning lady, when i told her id just be a moment and need to put a bathing suit on she ignored me and just stayed in the room cleaning. When i repeated it again thinking she may have not heard me it was again ignored. The buildings for the rooms look run down and drab. It does not feel like you are walking around in a 5 star resort. The food is hit or miss, but extremely expensive and i got food poisoning at the alloro resturaunt. Just generally this place does not feel like a 5 star resort and i would say not worth the money.

This is has got to be one of Ritz’s worst properties - definitely the worst I’ve ever stayed at. The people are all very nice, but it’s badly in need of a facelift and the food is pretty terrible. I think it’s surviving because it’s one of the better places on St Thomas, but it’s definitely not up to the Ritz standard.
