2-Star Hotels in Safford

We booked a suite with Baymont when we made our reservations. We did not receive a suite. Upon our arrival we asked if they had new construction going on. The lady at the desk informed us that they had renovations on going. The lady at the front desk was not very helpful and seem very curt and wanting to disengage with us. We received our room key and went to the room using the elevator which had construction going on at the entrance to the elevator. We proceeded to room 225 and were very surprised to note that the striker plate on the door frame was not there. The door latch would just be in the hole where the striker plate should be installed, and the door was not secure. The room was not completely furnished. A table and chairs were missing. We were very disappointed and will not stay there again. I am curious why would the lady at the front desk put us in a room under construction and /or not completed yet?
