There are shops and restaurants, also got spring park at walking distance. Good motel. Compact studio is compact size as same as name.

Great pet friendly hotel very clean rooms owner is awesome and very friendly she loves animals and enjoys to get to no her guests with small chat highly recommended place to stay beds were so comfy didn't want to wake up would definitely stay again

The location of this Bella Vista is on a junction of the main road but the noise of the traffic was not a problem. Plenty of free parking so this wasn’t an issue. The couple who run it are very cheerful and extremely helpful of our time driving around New Zealand. We were led to believe that this was a Bed and Breakfast motel but found out in the morning that it wasn’t. This was not a problem as there is a Convenience Store directly across from the Motel where you can purchase breakfast items or a Supermarket is located in town. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you needed. It’s an absolute ideal stopping place for the thermal springs , Gondolas and restaurants nearby. I would certainly recommend this place and if I get a chance to stay in New Zealand again I would certainly return there only this time a few days longer.

This is a great little hotel. Friendly owner, sparkling clean accommodations, extremely quiet, and located just outside of town and within walking distance of everything. It is far from fancy, but if you are looking for something clean, quiet, and welcoming -- this is the place to go!

Dit was onze eerste BV van totaal 10 van onze reis. Toen we dat tegen de man achter de balie zeiden wilde hij in ieder geval ons eerste bezoek memorabel maken. We kregen (mede daarom?) een ruime kamer op de begane grond. Kamer was schoon en bood prima alles dat je nodig hebt. Vlak naast met openbare park met vele dampende en stoomende geothermische bijzonderheden. En zelfs uit de stoep tegenover het hotel komt van nature stoom! :)

Great motel, very close (short driving distance) to everything. Our host - Pat - and his wife were absolutely sensational and we felt welcomed and almost part of the family. Our room had everything we needed, but not a lot of room for big suitcases, however that didn't phase us as all. The bathroom was new and spotless. Includes off street parking and guest laundry.

We spent three nights at the Bella Vista and were happy with our stay. Hosts were friendly and helpful, while the location is adjacent to the extensive Kuirau Park, a real thermal wonderland that is free to wander through. We started off each morning with a walk through this great park. The town centre is a little further, but within walking distance, as is the lakefront and the Maori village on the shores of Lake Rotorua. So, location was just great and the motel itself met our needs too. Washing machine, dryer and clothes line available (and came in handy as we'd been on road a week). Room was fine, too, with wifi signal strong. Bathroom also good - really liked the water-tight shower 'capsule'.

Top marks for location-we walked everywhere in downtown Rotorua passing through the Kuirau Park with its thermal springs and foot bathing pools(all free). Also walked along the Lake path via St Faith’s to the Government Gardens. There is a handy takeaway opposite if you don’t want to cook or go far for food. There is noise from the road but we thought the glazed doors made it very quiet. Bed was very comfortable and the studio was very clean and well maintained. As we were travelling for a month, we did struggle a bit with the size of the studio and our big cases. Would recommend an apartment if you want more space. The owner was also very friendly and accommodating.
