Rome Castro Pretorio Hotels

Excellent very nice and clean, wonderful view, safe environment even late at night in the adjacent street.

This hotel is unique compared to others I’ve stayed at in Italy, as it’s the only one that offered box tissues. The breakfast was adequate, and overall, I’m glad I chose this hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located near Termini train and metro stations, and there's a supermarket nearby, handy for picking up water. However, dining options in the immediate vicinity appeared somewhat limited. The room wasn't particularly spacious; our triple room was equipped with one double bed and one single bed. Basic toiletries (toothbrush, shampoo, shower gel) were provided, but complimentary drinking water was not; a bottle from the hotel cost €3. As is common in European hotels, slippers were not provided. The air conditioning in the room worked perfectly, which was essential considering the 40°C heat outside.

The location of the hotel was great. If you are a lonely traveller or a couple it might be great for you. There is a market, metro station and bus station nearby. The staff were nice. If you are a family with a small child I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Our room was very old. The bathroom was small. The front door is not suitable for a stroller it must be modified in every passage. There is stairs everywhere in the hotel so you should carry your stroller. Sometimes the elevators don’t work. The breakfast lacks many options. If you like croissant and coffea you can be happy with it but if you want boiled egg for your kid you must pay extra eventhough you have already paid for breakfast. The choices don’t change. There are smashed egg, bacon, sausage everyday. I won’t recommend this hotel for a family with small child.

The hotel is 2 minutes walk, very close to the main trains station Roma Termini. Surrounded by restaurants, there are also bountiful of shops and a conad supermarket in the Station Termini. Bus and metro are also super convenient, metro station just in termini, bus stops are all around. The rooms are clean and not small. The concierge has good English and nice attitude.

Having lived in Italy for many years, I feel that this is a very cost-effective hotel compared to hotels of the same price in Rome. It is an old chain hotel. Although the facilities are aging and look old, the space is a bit small, but it is very clean, especially the bathroom is not small and very clean, the shower water is very large, and the shower is comfortable. Tissue paper is provided, which I have not encountered in a budget hotel for a long time. The two-in-one shower and shampoo lotion is not very astringent after washing like in other hotels, but the washing feeling is very normal. The breakfast is quite rich, and there are not many people going early. The receptionist is very friendly. It is not in the downtown area, and it is very quiet at night, which means that the sound insulation is also good. Almost all budget hotels in Italy cannot do this. I need to bring earplugs. It is a 7-8 minute walk from Piazza della Repubblica and a 10-minute walk from the central railway station. There is a large supermarket Conad nearby, and the embassy is next door. There are troops standing guard, which makes the sense of security full. Recommended for budget travelers with a low budget.

Traveling with friends, we booked a quad room. To be honest, I am very satisfied with the room that costs 500 RMB per person. Advantages: 1. Good location. 2. Clean room. 3. Big toilet. 4. The guy who checked us in was very friendly. His fluent English slowed down because of our poor English. He was smiling and made us feel very warm. Disadvantages: The room is not really big. The toilet items are definitely not as complete as those in China, but all hotels here are like this. Because for us, this is just a place to stay, so the room is a little small. We left very early the next day. Picture 1 shows the appearance of a quad room, and pictures 2 and 3 are the scenery at the entrance of the hotel

Great location - walkable distance (~＜10mins) to Rome Termini & Metro, and hv lot of great restaurants nearby. Services - Staff are very friendly & helpful. Snack & minibar (water, soft drinks) are all free and refill everyday. Accommodation (Double + single bed) modern & comfortable, room size is good & enough to open 3 large suitcases. Bathroom is big, with both shower & bathtub. Breakfast - great breakfast with variety of choices from yogurt, cold cut , breads & pastry, & drinks. Hot dish are good, and will be even better if it offers few more options.

Excellent hotel, cleaning every day, the room was fresh, not run-down, located 3-4 minutes walk from the central railway station Termini, arrived at the hotel at 7 am, we were immediately checked in and fed a free breakfast, for which the hotel staff deserves great respect.
