Hotel Amalfi

We have just had a lovely three nights at this small, quaint hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were concerned about a late pick up from the hotel for a trip we had booked prior to arriving in Italy. The lovely gentleman went out of his way and called the company and reassured us they were coming but were later. The room itself was small, but equipped with what we needed and comfortable. The breakfast was very good for a small hotel and again the kitchen staff was lovely. Great position to see all the sights of Rome

Dear Hotel Amalfi Management, I am writing to express my disappointment following an unpleasant experience I had while visiting your hotel. A few days ago, I came to the entrance with the simple intention of asking for a business card. I’m considering staying in the area and wanted to keep your contact details for when I’m ready to make a booking. However, when I approached the door, a staff member opened it for me and spoke to me in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. Instead of offering any assistance, I was told, quite rudely, to “go online and check the prices yourself,” and that “the hotel name is written outside.” I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. This is not an acceptable way to treat anyone — least of all a potential guest. A couple of days later, a friend of mine (who is Italian and white — I mention this only because it might be relevant) visited the hotel to request the same thing. She was treated very differently — the staff were polite and gave her the card without issue. I don’t know if it was the same person who spoke to me, but the contrast in treatment was clear and disappointing. Whether or not this was intentional, the experience felt discriminatory and unprofessional. I expected a basic level of courtesy — something I did not receive. I hope you will take this feedback seriously. No guest or visitor should be treated with disregard, and I urge you to ensure that all your staff treat people with respect and professionalism, regardless of background. Sincerely,

Decent hotel, good clean bed and bathroom. We were four of us so a little difficult to manage as a family in one room. But staff an service were impeccable. The building is a historic one but all amenities are modern. Location is great too and as advertised.

Brillant hotel. Location was right in the centre and you could walk to all major sites, train station near by for easy access to and from the airport. Rooms were really good, big comfortable beds, very clean with toiletries provided. Staff were amazing, very friendly and the bonus is there is a roof top garden available which I would highly recommend as good view. Breakfast was great. I would really rate this hotel and I would stay again.
