The Code Hotel

The bed made us itchy for the days that we were there. The room is very noisy on a daily basis, i can hear everyone talking, cleaning, leaving their room. For 2nights out of 3 the fire alarm have been ringing. Not forgeting, to get to the hotel you will need to climb up slopes/stairs unless you came by car. Strongly do not suggest this 2 star hotel.

It's a quite small hotel, but it's not a problem considering about it's excellent Location.Breakfast is delicous and the staffs are super friendly.

Now tired & a bit run-down, this brilliantly-situated tourist hotel has a certain quirky attractiveness in having being created from an amazing combination of very old properties -so crazy narrow passageways & spaces are the norm : not least the far from attractive front entrance & reception! On 2 different occasions we slept in two different rooms on level one . Exactly the same decor but radically different layouts. Whilst the beds are comfortable & the bathrooms adequate- chipped, missing parts & last night - the arm of the portable shower head was broken. Discovered only after we couldn’t close the front door successfully earlier I the day . Neither of these issues just “happened“, so poor management standards are sadly in place..& it’s shameful to not have basic mechanical issues addressed promptly- after all obe gets no discounts for pour standards of maintenance! The insultingly inadequate so-called free drink at the bar turns out to be just fruit juice or water -& the cheerless bar space itself unwelcomely depressing. The breakfast isnt much good either, & others have noted the absurdly tiny bowls provided for cereal /fruits . Beyond nutty ( or is it extreme hospitality meanness with a capital “M”?) . Watery commercial dried eggs & something passing as bacon overcooked so much it’s nearly inedible. All the croissants are sugared, and the bread most basic grade. A heavily qualified recommendation based on address- not value .
