Hotel Pace Helvezia

Very well located hotel close to all the monuments. Service a little less good, TV not working, pronounced road noise...

The room is too old, but the location is good

The person who greeted us, as well as the lady in the breakfast room, were not friendly at all. The hotel, despite being a four-star hotel, lacks a bar, was quite dirty, and its facilities were poorly maintained. The dirt was clearly accumulated over several years and therefore not due to neglect. The paint on the ceiling was peeling, the shower door was not watertight and water was leaking outside, and the room smelled strongly of damp. The air conditioning, despite being on full blast, barely cooled. The soundproofing of the walls is poor, and everything is audible. The Wi-Fi doesn't work well at all; there's barely any signal. The breakfast was average; the pastries weren't fresh, the selection of cold cuts and fruit was limited, and anything leftover from one day was put back the next day in a haphazard manner. Breakfast starts at 7:00. We had a very early visit to the Vatican and asked if it was possible to have breakfast at 6:30, and were told no. They offered us a very basic packed breakfast without juice or coffee. Considering that they are preparing breakfast at 6:30, it wouldn't have been a problem for them to let us have coffee/juice from the dining room, considering that everything was from a vending machine. It's worth noting that the location is exceptional. It is located (on foot): 5 minutes from the Monument to the Fatherland 8 minutes from the Trevi Fountain 16 minutes from the Colosseum 50 minutes from the Vatican It also has a rooftop terrace with great views. They've set up tables and chairs on this rooftop, so you can have refreshments or dinner while taking in the views in the evening.

The location is very good. The rooms are a bit old.
