Mercure Roma Cinecittà

Before going abroad, I read reviews saying that rooms abroad are small and there is discrimination against Chinese people. I went to Europe for 2 weeks, from Rome to Florence, Milan, Venice, Paris, and Barcelona, and stayed in 4 hotels. They were all very warm and friendly, and they slowly explained the language if I was not familiar with it. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the transportation was extremely convenient. I did not encounter any unpleasantness.

I created the wrong reservation, but I realized it 2 minutes later when I was checking out. All I wanted was to update the dates! They accepted the difference in price, but they didn't cancel or change my reservation in any way. They charged me 3 days' hotel fee for the hotel I didn't stay in. A money-driven business that never cares about customer satisfaction!

The hotel itself is a business-friendly hotel. All aspects are good. Although it's located on the outskirts of town, it's very close to the metro. However, the metro takes 20 stops to get to the city center. The stations are relatively small, so the journey is about 10 kilometers, or 20 minutes. There's not much to see nearby. There's a large supermarket about seven or eight minutes away where you can buy bread and meat, and it's also good for eating. Many of our engineers on business trips stayed here. I could hear them making phone calls to China at night from the room next door. The soundproofing in the room was average. In Rome, where hotels are so expensive, spending over 100 euros for such a large hotel is quite worthwhile. However, I wouldn't recommend this for any trip. It's better to stay in the city, even if it's a smaller hotel, for greater convenience.
