Relais Fontana di Trevi Hotel

Over priced and rushed. We were presented with the bill without being asked if we wanted to order either more drinks or food. Their loss as next venue was happy to serve us more drinks and get a tip. Also, having taken their hint to leave, when paying, stating ‘service not included what shall I add’, was not what I expect. I’ll tip according to service, unfortunately for them it went with us, to another venue happy to not rush their customers

Went to the rooftop bar last week with my adult son. There for around an hour. We had 4 drinks, including 3 aperol spritz. Price was 95 euros, the equiv of over $105 usd. Same drink was 25-75% of that price elsewhere in Rome. This place deserved a premium… but not that much. When I mentioned to manager on way out that prices were a little over the top, his concern was to ask me how much I wanted to tip. Within a span of 30 seconds we had our quick discussion and a waiter pushed a menu up towards my face pointing at the prices, not that I ever questioned the prices were what they were. In the meantime I got pickpocked while I was at the register with my back to the room, which only had a few people in it. 10 seconds after I yelled my wallet was missing, the manager at the register, who had all along been facing the room, pointed to the far corner of the room, where my wallet had apparently been thrown, I assume by the pickpocket who was concerned he might get busted. Who was in on it? Who saw it happen? I have suspicions. Anyways, it was a fun vibe for a bit, but if you go, be ready for basic drinks close to $30 USD, and keep your wallet in a zippered pocket. Oh yeah, so you know, I keep my wallet deep in my front pocket and I try to have situational awareness. They still picked it.

I would NOT recommend this place Balcony Bar. As we passed a nice man scooped us up off the street to the balcony bar. Mistake. Loads of staff to help us spend our money. The place was very grubby and not as pleasant as it looks in pictures. We insisted on seeing a menu. A glass of wine 16 euro. A beer 18. I told my friends we should leave. We decided to have one drink and leave. Staff kept bringing nibbles. I mean one after the other. All at a cost. I sent it all back. I have a feeling you can sit in the nice seats if you buy more than one drink per person. You do get a glimpse of the fountain. But not worth it. When we went to pay. They asked us to pay outside as I had question about the bill. The man then proceeded to stand over us and nearly added the tip himself. I refused a tip. The heavy handed way we were dealt with. Also there was a man very drunk sitting on the floor. They were happy to serve these people. As you can imagine. Go at your own risk.

Great location. Property well kept. Friendly staff. Only thing I didn’t like was the room was small. The bathroom was a bit small and didn’t have counter space to keep toiletries. Overall good hotel with great location
