Novotel Rio de Janeiro Barra da Tijuca Reviews

The hotel as with most hotels in rio is quite run down. The swimming pool area doesn’t look as nice as the pictures and so as the rooms. Reception quite busy at all times.

Never again in this hotel. We knew that Novotel are very average hotels but this one turned out to be a big disaster for us visiting Rio de Janeiro all the way from India. Talking about the location first, this hotel is situated on Barra beach miles away from every tourist attraction of Rio. There is no restaurant or a decent eatery anywhere less than 3Km distance from the hotel. This is quite important as the restaurant in the hotel is almost non-existent. Talking about the hotel, it is below par in every sense of this world. Very ordinary rooms, no water or tea/coffee in the room. How can you you have no water served in the room in such warm weather. The staff are like robots making no eye contact with you ever. The breakfast is awful with no live counter for eggs and horrible coffee machine. Wi-Fi sucks. The gym and swimming pool are a joke. All the available space has been conveyed into 230 rooms. Please stay away from this hotel.

Not bad, not bad

The hotel staff is friendly, quick to help if needed, several people at the reception speak English. The food in the restaurant is normal, but small portions and nothing special to taste. The declared children's room in the photo was not found. The rooms are tired, the shower was dripping, the window did not open. The beach is 2 minutes to cross the road. The hotel provides beach towels, a chair and an umbrella - very convenient. Shop, pharmacy, cafe, gas station - 1 minute walk. French restaurant - 5 minutes walk, delicious. The center is 40-45 minutes by taxi.

Excellent service at Novotel Barra da Tijuca. Collaborator Erica welcomed us with treats for my birthday, making our visit to Rio de Janeiro even more special. The hotel is complete, with a beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset from the pool area and services such as chairs and beach umbrellas available to guests. I highly recommend it.

Very comfortable hotel, good location. Breakfast ok, I thought the price charged for what was offered was expensive.

Very well received at the hotel

I had a problem in the apartment, the flush/toilet wasn't working, no water. I made two requests to reception to resolve the problem, but they did not resolve it or respond. I had to use the downstairs bathroom. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this size. Att Daniel Heidi

It was amazing Wonderful hotel

I forgot an item in the hotel room. And within a short time I called to ask them to keep it and I would pick it up. Because they warned me that there was nothing in the room! I've been staying for over 10 years and this has never happened. I'll never come back!

I had an excellent stay, clean room, good service, very clean pool, I would stay more often. Not a complaint just an observation the fridge didn't cool the drinks enough.
