Food: Guests enjoy a diverse and tasty selection of food at breakfast and dinner buffets, including national Greek dishes. Despite some minor critiques, the overall dining experience is considered commendable by the majority of visitors.

Booked this as a last minute get away from Bournemouth in October, went self-catering. Time from airport in a private transfer about 10 minutes. Hotel is made up of a couple of blocks, we were in the main hotel block in room 516, suite with a sea view, free upgrade from the hotel which was great. The suite was large and roomy, separate large bedroom with own tv and safe (free to use), large double balcony with stunning views, large living room with own kitchen facility with fridge, etc. Own TV and two sofas/beds and comfy arm chair. Bathroom had a bath and shower built in and no issues with water pressure, wife says hair dryer was useless but never used it myself. The suite had everything we needed, couple of English News Channels and free internet was really good, in good decorative order but starting to look tired. There are only two small lifts to the floors in the main building and I could imagine in peak season this being a real problem, but no issue when we were there. Cleaners came every day and did their jobs well, no issues. Main pool was good, lots of sunbeds and large separate kids area/pool. Beach was rocky, lots of beautiful fag butts everywhere and not for me I'm afraid. There is a separate adults pool near the main building with its own bar and very swish but you need to spend a minimum of 10 euros to use this facility, maybe a God send during peak season but didn't use it. Main lobby very nice, staff all spoke great English and very pleasant. Only eat at the hotel once, we had lunch at the pool one day and the food was expensive but very tasty. No nightly entertainment so had to entertain ourselves. Outside of the hotel is not particularly attractive with empty decaying retail and residential outlets but a large supermarket right outside of the hotel with all you need to stock up on essentials. If you turn left from the main hotel and walk 5 minutes you come to a large selection of beautiful restaurants and bars and shops which we used for the majority of our visit, big shout out to - Costa Nostra, Casa Italia and Kosta Village Tavern where we wined and dined till the early hours, great company, great food and cocktails to die for. Further up towards main road, lots of sports bars and couple of shops/restaurants. TIP - there is a mini land train (main stop outside of the hotel to the left) that is about 9 Euros each and this takes you on an hour trip in and around Illysos and gives you a great overview of where to visit and explore. TIP - there is a private bus service that you can book from the hotel which you book on line in the morning or the night before (see reception for details) to take you into new or old town Rhodes at designated times for drop off and pick up (about 15 minutes to Old Town). 8 Euro Each return and we used this service 4 times in the week we were there and we were the only people on the bus each time. Another couple we got speaking to used a taxi service and paid 35-40 Euro return from the hotel to Old To

We were moved here after the hotel we booked closed early for the season. We weren’t disappointed overall. View to die for. We landed late but was left food and drinks in our room. Hotel very clean, room cleaned daily and little touches left. Few changes need to happen though. Food is lukewarm at best! It’s very nice just not kept hot. Staff don’t seem overly happy, if you don’t like your job guys leave! Your a long time dead, work to live not live to work. If you want a little pamper go see the hairdresser hands down one of the best blowdrys I’ve ever had! I nearly fell asleep. Overall good break away.

We arrived very late with two small children and were left waiting for half an hour which wasn't a great first impression. We have a 2 bedroom apartment which is very basic but serves its purpose. We have had several problems in the bathroom, broken sink and dirty drain water coming up through the floor which flooded the bathroom but was fixed . We have all woken every morning with bites and when we went to the pharmacy we were told they are bed bug bites. The spare pillows are lumpy and the stuffing is coming out of them. Air conditioning does not work and is only warm air. The food in the restaurant was cold but when we raised this issue we were shown the microwave that is available. Food is nice and the staff in the restaurant are very helpful and polite. We are here end of season and the website states that kids club and animation ends mid October however absolutely no entertainment on a night. When I raised this issue the customer relations woman asked to speak to me and explained that children's activities stop mid October, I explained that kids activities and evening entertainment are 2 different topics and was told she would take this on board but unfortunately could not help me, had we been aware of this we would not have booked. The pools are freezing cold and the toilets around the pool consist of 1 cubicle and the lock in both the male and female cubicle does not work. The bar staff around the pool are friendly and helpful. The pool bar has run out of the original coke and this has not been replaced probably because it is end of season. We were woken very early this morning by maintenance drilling and banging. We have been to lots of hotels end of season and there policy has always been the hotel will run the same as any other time until the last guest leaves, it's a shame this hotel does not have the same policy. We paid a lot of money to stay here and feel it has been a waste of our money, the hotel is slowly closing around us which gives the impression that we are an inconvenience. And having to pay for hotel beds on the beach is disgraceful for an all inclusive hotel aswell as also having to pay extra for things such as fresh orange juice. I would not recommend this hotel there are much better all inclusive hotels in Rhodes that look after and value there customers.

The hotel Sun Beach Resort is situated in a beautiful little corner of the island. Being located directly at the beach, you have an extraordinary view from the restaurant and even from the hotel room balcony. What we enjoyed most was the very kind and helpful service especially from the waiters. We would especially like to mention Ilias since he was always very friendly and welcoming. We always felt taken care after.

Quite disappointed in this family holiday, we arrived here very late and had to wait 30 mins until we were seen for checking in, we then got told where our room was and when we arrived there was hairs in the bed, crumbs on the cooker the pillows were flat on the bed and the bed is rock solid, we are staying in the beach wing of the hotel , we then tried to go to sleep for the night as it was very late but couldn’t sleep as the beds are very uncomfortable, we then woke up to brush our teeth and the sink was blocked, we were told by reception someone would come up to sort it out and we waited about 45 minutes for someone to arrive, no communication at all or apology, we then went out to the pool area which all pools are freezing cold, there is no reps or music or any sort of entertainment and we have 2 7 year old boys, i then went up to our room for a bath, when I let the water out of the bath the bath water started squirting up from the drain on the bathroom floor, soaking the whole apartment, we then went for dinner / tea and the food was freezing cold, not much choice at all and it’s the same for lunch, the chicken was pink inside and we didn’t eat anything really as everything was freezing cold, after that we then went to ask reception where the night time entertainment was for the children and was told there is no entertainment at all, even though this is advertised, we were then also told that even though we are all inclusive we would have to pay for fresh orange juice, I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with my stay, and I have only been here over half a day , not very happy at all!!

We arrived late at night, tired after our flight, only to be surprised with the news that our reception was actually located across the road in a different building. This was quite disappointing, because there was no clear description about that on the website when booking. Our room was in the older block, which is definitely in need of renovation. Many things were worn, rusty or peeling. The view from our balcony was far from inspiring, facing a parking area and some bushes by the road. The biggest issue, however, was the daily appearance of cockroaches in the bathroom. Before taking a shower we had to catch them just to feel comfortable. One day we even found a spider on a freshly replaced towel. To be fair, housekeeping did come every day and towels were changed daily, which we appreciated. The staff overall were friendly and welcoming, always smiling and trying to help, which made the atmosphere nicer despite the issues. The buffet food was tasty, but the variety was quite limited. The beach nearby was very rocky, so we didn’t go swimming there. Also, sun loungers were charged at 5 euros, which felt unreasonable for an all-inclusive stay. There was a 5-euro fee for beach/pool towels as well, but that fee was only once per stay. This was also something that wasn’t mentioned anywhere beforehand. And when I went to the reception to pick up the towels, I was told: “Sorry, we don’t have them at this moment, please come later.” I had to go back three times before finally getting them. Many thanks to the lady from reception named Melpo, who eventually solved the issue for us. Additionally, we discovered that the safe in the room was not included and required an extra payment, which again felt strange for an all-inclusive hotel. The hotel is close to the airport, which was convenient since we arrived late and it took only around 20 minutes to get there. The downside to that is the large number of planes flying overhead every day. It didn’t bother me much, but it disturbed my husband. We also visited the building across the road, which looked a bit more modern. We spent one day by the pool and had dinner there once. Since we were on an all-inclusive plan, we were able to have that meal for free, but one of the dishes (a piece of meat) was extremely overcooked and dry. We didn’t feel it was worth paying to dine there again. There was also another paid restaurant onsite, but if you already have all-inclusive, it doesn’t make much sense to pay extra. Additionally, there was an adults-only pool where sun loungers were charged, drinks at the bar were not included, and you couldn’t bring your own drinks. Again, this made the “all-inclusive” concept feel less inclusive. Overall, the hotel has some positives like the daily cleaning, friendly staff, close location to the airport, and mostly tasty food. However, the outdated room, insects, and hidden extra charges made our stay far from perfect. With some improvements and better communication regarding
