Dionysos Hotel

The facilities were good. Check in and out was easy. I think the breakfast could have more Greek options. Otherwise everything was nice.

We loved our stay! Would return and would recommend! Food is reasonably priced, delicious & plentiful, pools space is generous, rooms are modern & well kept. Convenience store nearby has all you need. A short walk to the beach & many restaurants. Perfect for all including families.Reception are amazing!! Housekeeping do a good job too! Old town is close and easily accessible.

After planning this special birthday away with my family I was very disappointed I'm a returning guest I was given a room with smelly drains and faulty air con I was moved the next day but that was just inconvenience that could have been prevented I was given a free safe use as a gesture! The main hotel building where we were allocated is noisy very hot stuffy and the overpowering smell from breakfast is not desirable The staff at this hotel work so hard and they are so polite and helpful The pool bar coffee shop and all the restaurants are excellent My previous stay was not in the hotel but the adjoining rooms which are over the other side I wasn't aware of the massive difference in the rooms in the hotel as the website doesn't really show true The balcony is tiny it never gets sun The noise from the road the hotel over the way is deafening all day and night You couldn't sit on the balcony I had a fall whilst on holiday and my experience of the sunbeds was not pleasant then as I couldn't get on off them No chairs are allowed at the poolside which meant I spent 8 days sitting near the bars .. not a great way to spend my holiday The pool was way too busy not enough sunbeds for guests Towels removed even when you were in the pool The reception area and bars are so hot not aircon to get cool The last day was not pleasant sitting at all No cases allowed in the lobby even though we were leaving in literally minutes My opinion has dramatically changed from my previous review Too many rules One restaurant air con that no one ever uses because of a dress code Such a shame in high temperature s would have been welcomed I stand by my first review when I say the staff all work so hard and are always courtious Management need to look into things Such a shame my holiday wasn't enjoyable

We have just returned from a lovely 10-night stay at Hotel Dionysos. Reading previous reviews, we were looking forward to our holiday there and on the whole the hotel met our expectations. We had a one hour delay on our flight out but even so, on arrival, we were told our room was not ready yet and to come back in half an hour. Maybe we could get ourselves a cocktail in the bar? Considering we had the delay, so they were expecting us earlier, it was mid afternoon, and we were very tired having left home around 12.00 we were not too bothered for a cocktail, nor was there any mention of a coffee on the house which would have been nice! When we finally got to our room we were very impressed, it was very modern and spacious, had a kettle, fridge, hairdryer, air conditioning, lots of storage and hanging space, large TV and great views looking out over the lovely gardens and sea beyond. Our room was cleaned every day and replacement towels daily too. The hotel is quite elegant inside and also quite quirky with various pieces of strange furniture etc. We found the breakfasts excellent with so much choice, fruit, yogurts, different types of bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, pretty much everything you could ever want. I do not understand people criticising the breakfast because we thought it was excellent (one of the best we have had in Greece) and the organisation in there was so good. You had to wait in the doorway and then escorted to a table and the staff worked so hard keeping their various areas clean and tidy. The whole team at the hotel were very friendly and efficient, even George the cat on reception! There are several eateries on site and we tried them all apart from the grill, and these too were excellent and reasonable prices. The hotel has a large lagoon style pool with beautiful flowers at the side and various little bridges that you can swim under. There was a swim up pool bar selling various drinks. As per some previous reviews, I was quite concerned regarding the sun lounger/towel situation and sure enough, inconsiderate people were claiming prime spot sun loungers first thing and then not using them for hours – so selfish. I imagine this situation will only get worse as we get to the school holidays and lots more children around. There is a ‘pool man’ who did keep his eye on the situation and on the couple of days we wanted to use the pool and couldn’t find sun loungers, he located some from his pile. We did see him one day actually remove someone’s towels because they had left their towels on there and then disappeared for an exceptionally long time. Needless to say, when the guy returned he was not happy his towels had been removed and someone else was sat on his sun loungers. For a 3 star plus hotel the loungers are the cheap, uncomfortable ones and let the hotel down, we had a torn one on one occasion and there is a definite lack of sun umbrellas. Hotel not a 4*. No hanging towels over balcony but no airer provided to compensate this just the 2 chairs on the balcony. We were not informed formed on arrival that you could get towels at the pool side. Rooms clean and spacious but air con poor and out dated. There was not enough umbrellas by the pool for the volume of people ( be prepared to set your alarm 6am to reserve a sunbed). The beach is a 5 min walk but a good 20 min walk to all bars and restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel has a good selection for all tastes.
