The location is okay, there are several good restaurants nearby, but the overall environment is poor, maybe because the building is old. The heating was not very good and the room was very cold. There is no elevator, so you need to carry your suitcase upstairs. All in all I don't think it's worth it compared to the price of ninety pounds a night.

I have to say that the bathing pool smells of sewerage and the bed is not clean enough. Although it is the closest to the city center, the environment is really not worthy of the price. I don’t know if it is Ctrip or the hotel. The password is not provided. If you don’t have friends, you can’t be contacted by phone.

The owner was very helpful when the airport luggage was lost. I was allowed my room early so I could start my process and then offered to add his number incase luggage would be delivered when I was away or asleep

The location is excellent, but this is also a disadvantage as it was quite noisy at night. The kitchen and bathroom are common for the entire floor, we had two rooms full, about 6 people, and the wait for the bathroom was long. The common kitchen is small, so having two people make dinner at once was difficult. There were plenty of basics, but no vegetable peeler or makings for salad dressing (maybe people make fewer salads on the road?). The blackout curtains don't cover the entire window, so the midnight sun was a problem when trying to sleep. On the plus side, the location was excellent, the owners are extremely nice, and the place was comfortable and clean.

Arrived on time in Reykjavik. The bus stop #3 is almost right at the front door. Very convenient. We were to receive an email the day before with the access instructions. I had received confirmation emails directly from this facility. We received no access information email. I’d checked my trash/junk boxes to ensure. On arrival our intention was to utilize the luggage hold/storage area until we could check into our room. We arrived at the facility just after 0800. From the facility website one would get the impression the front desk was staffed (see website below). It was not. The front door was locked. We knocked a few times and a current guest was leaving and allowed us in. There was no staff and the luggage room was locked. We attempted contacted via the phone number provided by the facility. There was no answer with multiple attempts. We walked around the facility and there was no breakfast provided. The reception area, stair down to the luggage storage, hallways and stairs up to rooms and the kitchen are heavily worn and very dirty. There is poor illumination throughout the facility we saw. It also smelled of deep fried fish in all ares of the facility. This is much more of a cheap hostel environment. Many of the pictures outside of the rooms are not of the actual facility. We never saw the rooms but expect the pictures again do not represent the actual rooms. We called the agency we had booked through. They attempted to contact the facility multiple times without success. Additionally, they reached another third party affiliated with the facility who was unable to contact them. Hence, the convenience of 24/7 access and “commitment” is not accurate. I find the website is very misleading. If they do, I recommend caution. Finally, consider booking through a reputable third party booking agency, because if you have any problems you will not be able to contact anyone.

Just arrived home from staying here, was a little worried after reading some reviews about other people’s stay here, this guesthouse is perfect for a stay in Reykjavik it’s location is perfect, it’s within walking distance to everything you would want to see, rainbow street, hallgrimsta, harbour, northern lights museum (if it too cloudy to do the trip this is the next best thing) plenty of shops/bars just a two minute walk away, bar (next door), YES the rooms are basic but they are clean and comfy, the kitchen is clean and a cosy little place to enjoy a coffee in the morning, the only problem I had was the lock at the back of the door came off in my hand and I was locked in when I woke up in hne morn (this needs attention and shouldn’t happen, I was a little panicked and decided not to lock the door when I was in the room) didn’t see any staff at the premises to report this to except a lady making beds in another room the previous day,

This is the worst place to stay. We had a room with no heat and the bathroom was moldy. The owner was unreachable by phone, text or email. We booked through ******* and they could not reach them either. It is a good location but be prepared for rooms that arent what you thought you booked (ie, room with private bath) or facilities that are awful. and if you are in the annex, be prepared for carrying suitcases up and down a staircase with no handrails.

One of the cheapest accommodations you’ll find in Reykjavik and still have your own room. Simple room with a shared bathroom/shower, but I rarely saw another guest. Bus station 3 is right outside the front door, which is a huge meeting place for nearly every tour you can book! Kitchen on site. My big complaint was that I never saw anybody who worked there the whole time I was there for 3 nights and my doorknob kept falling off and it was very difficult to lock my door. I had to leave it unlocked on one occasion. I emailed the property, but never heard from them. On a positive note, they offer luggage storage and that’s a big plus here in town!

Wouldn’t recommend this place. Firstly it was hard to find, no sign on the door. The owner was grumpy and not very welcoming. Not very nice atmosphere except for the kitchen. The room had only one lamp in the roof, no other lamp for reading etc. The button was in a corner far into the room so you can’t put on the light directly when you enter. No bedsheets included, and just a filthy towel. Pick another guesthouse is my advise.
