Clearly the hotel is being updated. The public areas are good. We were given a room in the annex which had been fully renovated (please put a blind up in the bathroom), however the internet and tv were not working. The receptionist was very apologetic and said they were aware of some issues since renovation. She offered to move us to a twin room in the main building but warned that although the bathroom had been updated the room hadn’t. We chose to move as we wished to unwind watching a bit of tv before sleep. We did need to borrow a fan for the night as we were in Redcar during the heatwave.

Food had been decent here. Me and my dad both had the parmos but they came out a little bit on the greasy side, chips were good. Husband and mother had the carvery which they both enjoyed. Service from the young man working here had been great really needs a pat on the back!

Went for a bar meal and asked about the carvery - was told could only get a carvery plated up for us as we were in the bar. Not an issue in itself but asked if I could substitute any potatoes based item for an extra Yorkshire pud for dietary reasons. Was told I would have to pay extra even though I would be losing a large portion of my meal. No effort to accommodate so left and went somewhere else

I stayed in the annex next door and ate in the resteraunt. The annex was very clean, tidy, lovely and warm. There are helpful staff and great food...proper pub meals with great prices. Lovely. The location is fab...straight over the road from the beach...some lovely views...and the high street on your door step.

First time here after being recommended it from a friend. I must say the carvery was superb. Lovely welcome from the staff on arrival. Choice of 3 meats, pigs in blankets and all the trimmings you could ask for. Well done everyone, will most certainly be back.

Booked for the two of us for 1 night bed and breakfast, instead of driving 2 hours home at the end of a party. We weren’t on Four in a Bed tv show, so nothing was inspected to the enth degree. The premises are over the road from the beach. The car park very adequate, was round the back with a rear entrance door. The reception lady was very nice, polite and informative. We were in room 26, twin room at the front of the hotel. Decor was tired and yes could do with a revamp, but it was very clean, bed comfy. As I said, we didn’t inspect it - it’s a typical east coast hotel that we were sleeping in for 1 night. We liked it. The bar/restaurant was very pleasant and fairly busy. We only had a few drinks before the taxi arrived. Breakfast was buffet style. My opinion, waste of money to serve in this way. Was 4 of us guests in total eating a full English at 8 to 8.30am Would be better, to take food order and cook and serve as they go, like a well known Inn do in some of their places. The bacon was very well done, the baked beans were cold. Could imagine those eating say 8.30 onwards would be met with cold/tired food, and maybe a lot of food waste for the owner. We would stay here again if needed and would recommend but don’t be snobby it’s a nice clean hotel that’s probably fighting cost of living like most of us are.
