The hotel is close to Reading Railway Station. The location is convenient and within walking distance. The room is small and the place is clean. It is suitable for a stop for a day or two. There are large supermarkets and liquor stores nearby, which are enough for all your needs. In particular, behind the hotel is the Thames River. The scenery is superb. Swans roam, cruise ships shuttle, geese and teal fly together. It is an unparalleled secret in the world. It would be a pity not to visit if you stay hereš

Two lifts out of three not working. Remaining one had no light except the glow from the control panel. We were floor 9. Lift took us to 4, then 13, then 10, then 4, then basement, and back to ground floor. My wife has claustrophobia and does not like small dark enclosed spaces. Helpful staff led us through to next-door Ibis where lifts were working and illuminated, and gave us a card to use them.
Price of Snickers bar and similar items is Ā£2.49. Costs 99p in small store just along the road.
Room was OK when we finally got to it, but initial experience puts us off using Novotel again.

The location is convenient and the room is neat and clean! It is after ļæ¼Trip.comļæ¼paymentļæ¼ļæ¼you have to contact the hotel yourself to provideļæ¼a copy of your certificate,ļæ¼and then submit a deposit of 150 pounds, and then the hotel will give you the check-in guide! In the whole process, I called 4 or 5 times, and it was not until more than an hour before check-in that I had to call again to urge me to send me the check-in guide! I have booked so many hotels on Trip.com, and this is the first time I have encountered this situation! Although the room was nice! but never stay again

I mostly really liked this hotel - the room was nice, shower was good, staff were friendly and the breakfast was great! There was one big problem though - the hotel is right next to a dual carriageway and the noise from the road below in my room was horrendous! I probably will give them another try and request a room away from the road next time, but if I get another room in the same location my next trip will probably be my last, even though i liked everything else about the hotel.
The Roseate Reading promises an outstanding experience to its guests. Opulent in design - plush upholstery - beautiful wall papers - stunning artworks - sculptures and a bespoke chandelier made with 86 - 000 Italian glass beads cascading down from the top of the building - The Roseate Reading was originally Shire Hall for the Berkshire County Council. The building - along with its wide hallways - vaulted ceilings - cornice mouldings and the original lift shaft have all been precisely restored to their original glory. To revive the old world charm of the Shire Hall - its council chamber - Eden along with its imposing fireplace and elaborate wood carvings on the doors and mantlepiece have all been restored to their past splendour.
The Roseate Reading has 23 well-appointed rooms in the main hotel and 32 rooms and suites in the newly built and furnished House. All rooms and suites in the House have direct access to Aheli Spa - the gym and Roasted by Roseate - the in house patisserie and boulangerie. Every en-suite bedroom has a perfect amalgamation of art - sound - light - comfort and is equipped with Penhaligons amenities and a Nespresso coffee machine. This blend of luxury and fervour permeates throughout the hotel.
Nestled within The Roseate Reading hotel - The Reading Room Restaurant and Bar is a stylish - contemporary space with warm mood lighting and a very charming ambiance. Located in the heart of Reading - its convenient and easily accessible location makes it one of the top spots for dining and cocktails in town.
The Secret Garden is one of Readings most relaxed outdoor spaces - a place to unwind by a waterfall feature or bask under the shade of a pomegranate tree. The Secret Garden is available for private hire by guests for any special occasion or get together.
The Roseate Reading houses three private rooms that can accommodate up to 60 guests.

Good location, five minutes walk from Reading Railway Station. The entrance is a street garden. Opposite is the office building. The room was on the back floor and looked like a new one, but it didn't taste much. The room is large, the bathroom is large, and it is very comfortable. Breakfast is not bad, there are not many options, but it tastes good. There is a parking lot.

AAnonymous UserPerfect for me as itās right across from the office but probably not so great if you wanted to be in the city centre although itās only an Ā£8 taxi ride or Ā£2 bus ride. Opposite a Beefeater which was handy but I would prefer an on-site bar and restaurant. Felt a bit uncomfortable on check-in to be asked if I was a smoker (Iām not) and if anyone would be joining me later š³. Didnāt like the bed being made up with sheets, blanket and counter pane as itās quite uncomfortable particularly on one of the hottest days of the year although the mobile air conditioning unit helped (first time Iāve had sheets and blankets for over 30 years since the day I got married despite extensive business (weekly) and leisure travel (4-6 times a year)). Hotel was very clean and the bathroom was well equipped. A bottle of water would have been a welcome addition to the room particularly in such hot weather. Not sure who to recommend the hotel to as itās neither a corporate hotel with all the amenities or a home from home. Breakfast was on offer for an additional Ā£15 and I decided to wait until I checked in to see. As I wanted to be in the office for 8am and there was no menu available, times of service or visibility of a dining room, other facilities or even other guests, I decided it may be too intimate and opted for a cold sandwich I had stored in the office fridge ājust in caseā. Was similarly priced to the executive room I had in the Novotel last week which had a full buffet breakfast included.
GGuest UserThe environment is awesome, food (breakfast) is good and happy hours at night time in lobby, I like gym room here, and there are two supermarkets nearby, that is so convenience and nice gathering place with friends and family.
RRussianboy001Everything has a price!
The characteristic of the UK is that everything costs money, and there is nothing wrong with it except that it is expensive! Commercialization is everywhere. I forgot to bring an adapter, so I asked the hotel front desk to borrow one. The reply I got still rings in my ears: we donāt have adapters to rent, but we have adapters to sell!
DDarrenVery nice clean hotel would definitely stay there again. It was also nice getting a free upgrade on the room. Witch had kettle, microwave, and fridge with a small freezer compartment. The room was like your own flat. Only down side to it was the shower was pretty crap. But you can put up with it for few nights.
GGuest UserA great room for a solo traveller, a huge king size bed and all facilities. They do tend to put singles in the Wellington lodge which is a 10 minute walk to the pool facilities.
IIrene YipLocation is great, 4 mins off Costco and supermarket, Burger King, nandos next to the hotel. Check in is quick, room is great and quite clean. Will definitely come again.
SSusanEnjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly. Room clean and good size. Would have liked a more varied breakfast with cereal/toast Ā Would visit again if ever in Reading.
VViggiReally loved everything about this hotel - from my stay to the food and itās location close to the city centre. Will definitely choose to stay here every time I visit Reading! Staff is really friendly and helpful as well - they knock on the door every morning the room!
AArunReally nice stay for reasonable rate and really helpful staff. Thank you so much. It was a good experience. Will recommend my family and friends if they need a stay in Reading.
