Hotels in Rabat Medina, Rabat

On a recent business trip to Rabat, as I always do when traveling to Morocco, I booked rooms in a Riad, located in the old medina. On arrival, we were greeted with a nice Moroccan tea, by the manager, Hicham. My room was beautifully decorated in traditional mosaic tiles, had a private bathroom and one of the most comfortable beds ever. Though I would have preferred a bathtub, my bathroom had a shower. Be careful if walking into the bathroom at night, as there is a sharp corner on the shower stall that you can easily step on and cut your foot. The riad is located close enough to the outer edge of the medina so you don't have to walk far from the parking lot, but easily within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The rooftop terrace is wonderful for breakfast or afternoon tea, with expansive views over the city and river below. We booked dinner with the hotel, mainly due to many places being closed because of Covid-19. I'm very happy we did, as the food was sublime. Jamai, the chef is an expert at Moroccan cuisine. In fact, we catered our flight home from the riad, and my Boss said it's the best Moroccan food he's ever had. I'd tend to agree. If you find yourself traveling to Rabat, you owe it to yourself to stay at the Riad Dar El Kabira Salam. Note that they're changing their name to Dar Kika, so make sure you watch for them.

This was our first Riad in Morocco and it was our favorite! The Riad is beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and our room was a relaxing escape after our tours during the hot July days. The room had its own router, so WiFi service was excellent and the room also had A/C which was needed in July. Being in the medina, it was surprisingly quiet, but yet still close to shopping and restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are wanting to stay in a Riad in Rabat. It is near the edge of the medina, so you have easy access inside and outside the medina.

Our stay at Dar El Kebira was an absolute delight! It was a blend of traditional Moroccan elegance and modern comfort. The staff was truly exceptional. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the personalized service throughout the stay. The dining at Dar El Kebira Riad's restaurant was simply outstanding. The food was authentic and flavorful. We cannot wait to return! I highly recommend it for anyone seeking an authentic Moroccan experience.

1. Travel preparations The evening before I had booked via the Ctrip APP and got the room confirmation. I drove to the hotel the next day but couldn't find the proof of reservation. We were physically and mentally exhausted after 6 hours of long-distance bus travel and continued to wait for the hotel to check the place for more than an hour. I was told that the reason the hotel didn't have a record was that Ctrip local agents had not booked a room with the hotel before. I was very disappointed with Ctrip Dienst, which has nothing to do with the hotel. 2. Hotel rating Location: The location is in the old town of Medina. The market is a few minutes walk from the hotel. It is very convenient. The main attractions of Rabat are also within walking distance or a maximum of 5-10 minutes by car, however the hotel itself may not be easy to find (usually there is a widespread problem that the old building in riad has been rebuilt because they are all hidden in private houses), it is recommended that the driver (if any) take the same to the hotel, or ask the hotel staff to come out for a pickup, this is safest Surroundings: You can see that the hotel owner has put a lot of effort into combining the classic and modern elements of Morocco when designing the floor plan. He particularly likes the atrium, which lets in sunlight. The rooftop relaxation rooms and pool are also worth spending half a day sipping a cup of mint tea and enjoying the scenery. the place , Service: The staff are friendly and efficient and actively respond to requirements. Whether we want to carry luggage, book a car or just have a cup of mint tea, we are very satisfied with the service Facilities: This time it's the most unsatisfied part of my stay. It is most apt to refer to it as ”fancy”. The room was originally equipped with a tablet computer to intelligently control the room's lighting, air conditioning, etc. The bespoke software is only in French and it is not easy to use. and the function is also problematic (you cannot adjust the temperature of the air conditioner), which can be operated in a very simple way, but has to be dealt with in a complicated way There is no splash-proof design in the bathroom. After showering the entire bathroom was very wet and the entire wall was covered with traces of mold. The hotel ignored the details. The lights on the wall were at an angle and the TV set was also placed at an angle. i don't know why it came out In general, I don't know whether the people who gave high scores have eye problems or a higher level of acceptance than I. The service and the location of the hotel are overall full marks, but I think the room furnishings are absolutely unqualified and the price / performance ratio is absolutely unqualified extremely low.

Stayed here in Jan 2024 with family. Location is in the main Medina of Rabat…and I must highlight that the Rabat Medina is relatively very new and also very well organized and with good road access, especially this section. The walk to the riad is short from the car drop off. The riad is a modern one and also functions as an art gallery. The interiors were a bright white and there were subtle Moroccan accents in between the art work. Our room was up a flight of stairs and was a long room which I think had been converted into a Triple…but all was good. We were able to walk down to the Kasbah by the seashore and also wander around the Medina easily from this location. Aircon/heater could work a little more efficiently, if I were to complain about something. Breakfast in the morning was very good…and similar to everywhere else we stayed in Morocco. My only issue with the hotel is that it was a bit noisy at night, but maybe that’s to be expected in a crowded large city. And secondly, too many young boys were hanging out in the alleyway all the time, either playing games or watching videos. In retrospect maybe staying outside the Medina is a better option in Rabat. And truthfully one could probably make Rabat a day visit while driving from Casablanca to Chefchaouen or Fes.

Very comfortable riad located in the heart of the Medina. Service was impeccable. Rooms were large and clean. The staff and owner were very helpful and made sure our stay was fabulous. The breakfast is always well served and super fresh. Must consider this riad for your stay in the Medina.
