Riad Kalaa 2

Amazing Hotel hidden inside the RIAD. Very comfortable room and lovely staff attending your needs. I would recommend staying here as part of your Journey through Morocco’s beautiful interior.

We stayed at the Riad Kalaa 2 for our final two nights in Morocco. Most review will say it is a little distance from the car drop off point. With the Riad not having a sign outside, better to have someone guide for the first time. We were given the Ifrane room on level 2. It’s a smallish room with the bed and TV on a loft, which meant having to go up and down stairs. The room is not very well lighted though or maybe it’s just me. Leaving the curtains opened during the day helps. We can only call the room crammed. Has a small fridge and the smallest in-room safe I’ve ever encountered. No kettle in the room nor coffee making machine though helpfully, there were a couple of bottles of water provided. The bathroom is under the sleeping area. The shower area is however not fully enclosed and so one has to be careful not to spray water everywhere. Moroccan breakfast is served between 7:30 to 10:30 in the central courtyard. Helpfully, they do have laundry services. The restaurant is in big sister, Riad Kalaa, a short walk away that has a sign out front! The food was delicious and as a bonus, alcohol can be served. We tried a Moroccan red wine which was great. The riad is a beautiful property with excellent and friendly service. However, after much consideration, we decide to suggest avoiding the Ifrane room unless you are a sole occupant without mobility issues.

Great Riad! Great experience. Everything was nice. Staff, rooms, breakfast, location, very comfortable. Staff were very helpful with recommendations. Not really much hot water though. No door to bathroom.. only a curtain.. not ideal for families with grown kids.

A lovely Riad, tucked away , but still close by to markets and beach. The staff were helpful and friendly. Added bonus was the lovely pool on the rooftop terrace to cool down after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was lovely and we had the room on the top floor and would definitely stay again !

Absolutely Fantastic Amazing staff at Kalaa 2. So helpful and polite, Sanaa was so lovely. The room was clean and beautifully set out, very tranquil and an authentic experience, finished off with a lovely breakfast. 💯 recommended, will definitely be staying again.

BEWARE this property is a long walk from the main road and takes you through narrow alleys to get there. It just doesn’t look safe and is dark at night. My taxi driver had to call someone from the hotel to take us there, eventually after 5 minutes someone from the hotel escorted to this place and it took more than 10 minutes walk to get there. Just imagine dragging 2 big suitcases along this alley, right there we were very concerned and hesitant about this place. It is very scary to walk through this narrow alley at night, it’s a long walk! Since we were there we saw the place and were totally convinced that there is no way we can stay in the place. The staircase was narrow and the room for 3 people has 3 tiny beds. We decided not to stay here even if we lost $300. This place is definitely not worth $170 per night. Also, the description on ******* is very deceptive, it just doesn’t say anything we experienced but it glorifies it. We decided not to check in and started looking for a place to stay, finally we found Hotel Rabat for the rescue and ended spending a night at Hotel Rabat. Even if Riad Kalaa 2 was for free I wouldn’t stay here. I don’t care if I lost $300 (2 rooms), but one should feel safe.
