My stay at MGM was amazing, from start to finish. I came for one night as a treat to myself. Tina from the front desk was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and I really enjoyed the variety of food they offered. The staff are friendly and caring. The pool is absolutely stunning and I just so while visiting. The whole hotel was beautiful and I loved my stay here. Will be coming back for sure with friends.

The location is good, which is in the laoshan district, half an hour driving from qingdao north railway station. Took the whole family to the polar ocean park. By the way, the ocean park is a must visit. We can see both the polar bear and the penguins, as well as the dolphin/ whale/ seal performance.
Cleaning service is satisfactory. Thanks to “张冬梅” who provided high standard service and gave us extra drinks. We request kids slippers on the first night and then the second day we found out both kids slippers and tooth brush are in the room. Very proactive

The hotel is new and well-equipped. The oak-scented bath products are my favorite. The location is convenient, with a large shopping mall nearby. The rooms are spacious, and the breakfast is quite generous. The front desk assistant, Xiao Qi, is very helpful, proactively adding guests on WeChat and proactively addressing their needs. This is a relatively good value business hotel during the current tourist season.

Complaint: change in ownership during our stay meant that it became a smoking establishment whereas it had previously been nonsmoking. Not a small disappointment.

Let's start with the pros:
1. Right on the beach, it's arguably the best choice in Qingdao for families with young children who love digging in the sand.
2. While the hotel might be a bit older, it's impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean – visibly so!
3. The Chinese restaurant was excellent, as expected from a Hyatt property. The executive lounge offerings also met expectations.
4. Front-line staff were willing to help but seemed to lack the resources and authority to resolve issues (more on this later). The concierge team, however, provided very good service. During peak season check-in, our room wasn't ready, so they proactively offered a temporary room for us to rest in – a thoughtful gesture. The Club Lounge staff, upon learning our request for connecting rooms couldn't be fulfilled, went out of their way to find an alternative solution for us. And just to add, after my family member mentioned for a second time that our child might roll off the bed without a bed rail, the hotel promptly provided one free of charge.
Cons:
1. During peak season, hotel management's oversight regarding essential supplies was severely lacking! Children's slippers were out of stock because they had run out, and bed rails were unavailable due to high demand and depletion of stock. Considering we checked in towards the end of the summer holiday, these are issues that could easily be addressed with proper planning. The resigned and somewhat indifferent expressions of the front-line staff when I voiced my complaints suggested they're unfortunately used to such situations, implying management probably isn't motivated to resolve them.
2. The hotel is not very car-friendly for guests driving themselves. Upon arrival, the direct path to turn left into the hotel entrance was blocked by traffic cones. Driving further, a double yellow line prevented a U-turn, forcing us to drive to the next traffic light to turn around. After a multi-hour drive, this unnecessary detour was incredibly frustrating. The same issue presented itself when leaving the hotel: the cones blocked the path, making it impossible to turn left towards Qingdao city center, only allowing a right turn. I even took photos to illustrate this point – the congestion at the entrance was clearly due to cars trying to navigate around these cones to make a U-turn further down the road.
In conclusion, the hotel's prime location and the strong Hyatt membership program mean it never struggles for guests. This perhaps explains why they seem to overlook or are slow to address evident issues. For example, when I was waiting in my car at the entrance for my family to alight, the security guard kept urging me to move. While I understand that a car parked at the porte-cochere can impede traffic, I was actively waiting in the driver's seat, moving whenever other cars approached. Yet, I was repeatedly told that 'management doesn't allow' any stopping there. Ultimately, I had to keep circling the hotel's entrance until my family was ready. I also inquired about the purpose of the traffic cones blocking the hotel entrance, and again, the response was that it was 'management's decision' – ostensibly to prevent vehicles heading to the adjacent attraction from using the hotel's driveway for U-turns.

I spent a week on vacation, it was great!
First of all, I would like to thank Tina and Rose at the front desk for their great service attitude! Details determine quality, and this store has a perfect score for quality!!!
Service: The hotel is responsive to our requests. Once we were playing at the beach, our shoes were wet and we went back to the hotel barefoot. The front desk saw us in the distance and immediately went to get slippers.
Facilities: Most of the equipment in the room is high-end, smart toilet, Marshall audio, the shower head is very new, and there are many kinds of drinks in the mini bar
Hygiene: This is the first time I have seen such a responsible hotel. They will take the initiative to contact me to clean the room. One day we asked for cleaning three times a day and they actively cooperated
Environment: Close to the sea, 500 meters away from the beach, very suitable for vacation! The hotel is decorated very elegantly. The restaurant on the first floor is decorated in an elegant style. Not only is the breakfast great, the steak and pizza are very delicious, the tiramisu is sweet but not greasy, and the quality is 100 points! !

We were upgraded to a sea view room for free, and there was capsule coffee. The balcony was a sea view, and it was very comfortable to take a nap facing the sea or drink a cup of coffee. The hotel also has a small garden where you can take a walk, and the gym is particularly well received. This is a rare hotel gym with a bench press. The only drawback is that the area is relatively deserted and it is difficult to get a taxi.

The Fuxin Building boasts an excellent location right next to the Municipal Government, which provides a reassuring sense of security. The hotel staff proactively upgraded our room. The bedroom was remarkably spacious, offering plenty of room to move around, and the bathroom was also generously sized—a design I truly appreciated. The room layout was well-thought-out and comprehensively equipped, featuring a separate washing machine and microwave. This made doing laundry or reheating food incredibly convenient after a long day of exploring.
The room offered lovely views, directly overlooking May Fourth Square, where we could see the landmark 'Wind of May' sculpture and the sea. In the evenings, we could even catch a glimpse of a portion of the light show. One aspect that pleasantly surprised us was the hotel's dedication to hygiene and environmental responsibility. From individually packaged disinfected towels, bath towels, and slippers to the electrically changing toilet seats, every detail made us feel that the hotel was both clean and eco-conscious.
Moreover, my child absolutely adored the restaurant's breakfast. The buffet offered an extensive variety, including not only standard Chinese and Western options but also fresh rice and various stir-fried dishes. Even specific items like fried dough sticks containing eggs were clearly marked, which was an incredibly thoughtful detail for children with egg allergies. We truly appreciated this consideration. The restaurant staff's demeanor perfectly matched the hotel's star rating; their service was proactive and genuinely friendly. During busy periods, they would assist guests in finding tables and even offer drinks to diners from a mobile trolley. Their attentiveness and proactive approach were evident in every aspect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Overall, it's highly recommended.

GGuest UserThere are ground parking lots and underground parking lots at the door, which are very convenient. There are charging stations, and there are many restaurants in the hotel, which is also very convenient. There is a banquet hall in the hotel, which looks very large and luxurious. There is also a professional wedding planning company, which is very convenient for friends who are preparing for marriage. Sanitation is very clean in both public areas and rooms, and there are professional cleaners who clean them for a long time. The environment is very luxurious and looks very gorgeous as soon as you enter. The surrounding environment is very clean. The room looks very tidy and clean. The stay experience is super good! The service attitude of the service staff is also super good, and the professional ability is also very good!
