Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa

I went with my two good friends on our yearly girls trip, and then my mom arrived for her bday. We all loved how beautiful and calm the beach was and all the amenities but we thought the food and drink was not on par with other Secrets or All inclusive hotels we have stayed in. I have stayed at Secrets the Vine Cancun 3 times, Hyatt Zilara Punta Cana, and Hard Rock Los Cabos. Also thought that during the day the pool area was vary boring except during the activities (water aerobics, volleyball, zumba) but it would be cool to have a DJ or louder more fun music playing. It was also very hard to find shade at the pool and the beach, wish there were more chairs with umbrellas. The night entertainment was great at Desires and at the lobby especially the Dj and bands that played more upbeat dancing music, and Black Coffee got everyone to dance and was such a great vibe, we love him. Our concierge/butler - Osvaldy Guerrero Cedano is a true Gem, the best concierge/butler I've ever had. He was super responsive and helped us out at all times. It was my mom's bday and he had the room decorated with cake and Champagne and she loved it. He totally made her day more special. Ultimately I thought that this Secrets was more for couples where most Adults only resorts are a bit more fun and have more of a variety of people of all ages, for example girls trip, bachelorette, bachelor, wedding party. it seemed way more focused for couples and we all felt a bit out of a place. Lastly our room smelled like mold, I wish we had complained and had it changed it because on the last day our Concierge/Butler allowed us to checkout late and then enjoy the resort and use a room just to shower before leaving for our late flight. The room that we used the shower in was the same size but no smell of mold. The service was amazing though, all employees were super nice, kind, helpful and smily they made the atmosphere so great! Secrets Cap Cana is a beautiful resort and has amazing staff! They are very attentive to allergies as well and you get asked many times at each restaurant if you have any food allergies. However, if your allergy is very serious, you should still exercise caution at the buffet and the bars as cross-contamination issues could very easily occur there (e.g. old cashew containers are reused at the bars to store mint leaves and/or cash, the same paper towel is used to wipe off the utensils for multiple different foods at the buffet). This is not an issue unique to Secrets though - I felt much safer here than I have at most other resorts. The a la carte restauarants were typically much better for this. The drinks were great, the entertainment was excellent, and the water was amazing. At the time we went, the beach had a lot of seaweed, but that meant you had more of the beach to yourself as most people chose the pools. However, that also meant it can be difficult to get a chair at the pool. We spent most of our time relaxing in a pool, by the beach, or in a lounge/bar area, but we always made sure to catch the shows put on by the entertainment staff because they were very high-quality. The housekeeping staff were also fantastic. Extremely efficient twice-daily service, the fridge was always stocked, and we never ran low on anything. Overall, this is a beautiful resort in a beautiful location with staff that really go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. You'd have a hard time finding much better in DR!

Secrets Cap Cana is an amazing g resort, the grounds are beautiful and clean. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and always helpful. Our Butler Aníbal exceeded our expectations !!! Anibal’s attention to detail is amazing. He made our trip that much better. We will be visiting Secrets Cap Cana again and definitely requesting Anibal as our butler.

We came here for our family vacation, and our initial concern was food…we were not sure how good it would be…it was SOOOO delicious…every restaurant was PHENOMENAL. We were hoping that there would be a special Dominican restaurant with authentic Dominican cuisine…that would be our only complaint. From check in to check out, the service was phenomenal…Our concierge Yafreisi was so attentive…the entertainment was great. “Ice Cube” was the best! 😄

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here for 6 nights and we had a great stay. We stayed in a Tropical View King with Preferred Club access. The Preferred Club is definitely worth it in our opinion. First, our butler Philippe was amazing, taking care of anything we needed and just being a friendly face who checked in on us every day. We really don’t have much if anything to complain about with our whole stay. The food overall was a lot better than the last resort we stayed at in Punta Cana, there was a good amount of entertainment for a relaxing trip. It’s certainly not a party resort but there is a lot of activity at the main pool during the day and fun things to do after dinner. Highlights were the fire show and the silent disco. Overall, we had a great time and will likely be back if we come back to the DR.
