Papantonia Hotel

Had a lovely two weeks at Papantonia. Room was a very good size with a very large balcony in the rear building. Arrived to a very warm welcome from Thomas who is fantastic supporter by Andre. Good was good always found something for everyone to eat. My one comment is the veggie options could be more clearly noted. Drinks very strong on the spirits I would have preferred them weaker. Not much in the way of entertainment in the evening there is water aerobics in the morning, some darts and water polo in the day but could be better. Evenings not much going on. There are a number of beautiful beaches a short walk away. Many many bars in the local area and the Protaras ***** always lots to see and do - small walk to the mini golf also - the location is perfect. Hotel was a nice size with friendly staff always clean I would definitely come back!!

Arrived at 12am, checked in quickly and found sandwiches, apples, water and juice in the fridge. Room spotless, cleaned and fresh towels everyday. Hotel has recently been renovated which you can tell. Food was really good, always plenty with different themed nights. Chinese, Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican. I loved the cottage pie. Travelled with two fussy eaters kids aged 16 and 9 and the snack bar is a life saver, chips, hotdogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, toasties served most of the day. Ice cream tubs from bar from 10am. Variety of cocktails and two mocktails for the kids. You do have to pay for slush, it’s €3. Entertainment isn’t brill not a lot going on, there are a couple of shows on through the week. We weren’t to fussed with the ages of our kids they don’t really get involved anyway. There is a big stage next to the pool area that turns out is the hotel next door but there is a gate left open down the side of the game machines and not many seem to go so we found a lot from Papantonia sit in there. Staff seem to be fine with it just get drinks from own bar. Staff are all polite and welcoming, reception happy to help with anything. On the second night we noticed our bedroom air con was just warm air, reported it at 10 went to the pool for the day. Returned to our room at 4 to the engineer just finishing up installing a new unit. We paid for late check out til 6pm. Make sure you go 2 days before and then they let you know 24 hours before if it’s available. We paid £38 in English money for this. Had an amazing holiday would definitely return.

We were a family of 4 that stayed in July 2025, the room was a couch bed and camp bed and two single beds in a separate room. We asked for a pull out bed. They were on order but they immediately brought a doubled up mattress for the camp bed which made it more comfortable. Air conditioning was great in both rooms. Shower a bit cramped but did the job. Stock up on water bottles etc.at supermarket 50 yards away and is well stocked for everything you need. The buffet food and salad bar was good and found enough for everyone to find enough to eat, but did eat out at local restaurants to change it up. Morning and afternoon snack (chips, pizza etc) out with breakfast/lunch/dinner times All staff work hard in particular the bar staff work hard and all inclusive has enough beers and cocktails for all. Andreas and Nyazi in particular are great at interacting and a few greek words like thank you ef karisto goes along way. They work hard so tips are very welcome! Only slight negative is Slushies for kids are not included in all inclusive. As hotel improves hopefully the feedback includes this, (as it is just ice and flavourings). The pools are great and clean for all ages groups and generally enough sun loungers for all, so no need to run down at 7am! Entertainment staff also work hard, some evening entertainment (parrot show/magician/singers were fun. Local bars nearby have karaoke and singers in the evening if you like stay out later. Local beaches very close recommend Penera Beach a 5 min walk away or if adventurous walk to Protaras Beach. 20 mins walk away(avoid weekends as busy). Lots of water sports 5 mins away. Also lots of trips/excursions and water park in Ayia Napa is worth a visit. Local bus service but recommended taxi for convenience. Don't pay more the 25 Euros either way . Overall we have a great stay here and of you book will not be disappointed. Though is more of a quieter holiday. We asked for a late check out on leaving day which was to 6pm due to late transfer pick up and was accommodated 24 hours prior at a cost of 45 euros so worth asking if late bus airport transfer

We recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a mixed experience. The layout of the room was practical, with a decent-sized space that included a pull-out sofa bed in the living area, a kitchenette with a table, and a separate bedroom with two single beds. However, amenities were lacking, there was no hairdryer provided, and renting one from reception cost an extra €10, which felt unnecessary for a basic item. One of the biggest disappointments was the entertainment team. They made little to no effort to engage with guests, instead waiting for people to approach them, which made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. This is definitely an area the hotel should work on if they want to improve the guest experience! As for the food, it was hit and miss. The snack offerings in the morning and afternoon were probably the best part, simple options like chips and pizza - but these were very repetitive. Although a menu advertised more variety like burgers and salads etc, the chef refused to make them when asked, they advised they didn’t do them, which was confusing and frustrating. Main meal times were a strange mix, with a lot of dishes being unappealing or poorly prepared. The desserts were uninspired as well, just three small cakes served in rotation each night. Bar service was average. The bar manager stood out as friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, the rest of the staff were fairly standoffish. One major plus, though, was the pool area. No matter what time of day you went out, there were always plenty of sunbeds available, which made relaxing by the pool stress-free which is a rare and welcome change from most resorts. Overall, this hotel has potential, especially with its pool setup and room layout, but it really needs to improve its food quality, entertainment staff engagement, and basic amenities to make it a more enjoyable stay.

We had a week here in mid May absolutely fab budget hotel! This place was amazing value for money 3* accommodation with 4* food and 5* service! From start to finish every member of staff from the cleaning , food/waiting, reception and bar staff nothing too much trouble and all with a smile on their faces not to mention the young animations team who were fab even tho we had no kids they did interact such pleasant youngsters loved the quiz every day (Javea Casuals )🤣 rooms were spotless and seen to every day. Pool area also clean with more than enough loungers for everyone no matter the time of day with lots of space and not packed in like sardines. It was only a shirt 15 min walk into Protaras such a great location. Already booked to c9me back here beginning of September so that says it all!
