Very nice setup, most friendly and very clean. This is a small, cosy, comfy, family run hotel. The food was faultless - all prepared in situ to a high standard The room we had was nothing exceptional but you don't go to Dartmoor to stay in a room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Lydgate House Cottage. With walks and cycle routes direct from the door, it was ideally positioned for us and our son. The cottage was cosy and very well equipped, although anyone over 6ft would find the upstairs bedroom/bathroom a bit of a challenge, but this is mentioned in the description of the property. Despite its position in the middle of Dartmoor, local towns and villages are easily reached by car (or on foot!). John, Sarah and Kelly were most welcoming. We hope to visit again soon.

Great location for numerous Dartmoor walks, very comfortable, clean and warm cottage and excellent staff to greet us and look after us if we needed help or advice. Very enjoyable stay and we hope to return soon, thanks to all involved for your hospitality.

Beautiful location with stunning views. The whole place was very clean. Breakfast was excellent and leisurely. John, Sarah and Kelly were extremely friendly and welcoming. We can highly recommend a stay in this hotel. You will not be disappointed

Sehr idyllisch gelegenes Hotel im Herzen von Dartmoore mit gutem Essen und sehr freundlichen Gastgebern. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet inklusive Wärmflaschen, die man aber leider auch braucht, da die Heizung nur selten angeschaltet wird

This is an amazing place and hidden gem, Jon, Sarah and Kelly are fantastic host, nothing is to much for them, breakfast is amazing with lots to choose from and freshly cooked to order. Evening dinner was scrumptious! Jon is very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. The rooms are spacious, airy clean and beautiful furnished. We had a surprise upgrade due to being on our honeymoon. We'll definitely be back!

Just returned from our annual holiday at this fantastic hotel , John, Sarah and Kelly are fantastic host nothing is to much trouble for them .we had evening meals every night there is a great choice and so tasty , breakfast was also very good too . The scenery and sound of the river flowing down the valley is just so relaxing, already booked for next year

Just back from a week in the beautiful Lydgate cottage which is attached to the hotel, set in a stunningly beautiful and very peaceful location. The cottage is lovely and has everything you need and John, Sarah and Kelly are very friendly, helpful and around if you need them, without being intrusive. You can order from the hotel's menu and have dinner delivered to the cottage, which was a real treat! There's also a pub a short walk away and lots of walks that our two dogs loved. The perfect base for exploring Dartmoor and further afield there's loads to do within 45 minutes to an hour's drive. Highly recommend!

Das Lydgate House hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage mitten im Dartmoor in absolut ruhiger Lage ca. 500 Yards von der Landstraße in Postbridge ist perfekt zum Entspannen und um das Dartmoor zu erkunden. Wir haben dort zweimal abends gegessen und es war beide Male sehr gut. Auch das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber. Es macht Spaß, sich mit Ihnen zu unterhalten und man bekommt tolle Tipps und viele interessante Informationen. Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen. Unser Zimmer war der Heron-Room, der großzügigen Platz bot. Das ganze Hotel ist sehr gemütlich und wir kommen wieder!
