The room does not match the advertised picture. In the photo, a white bathroom with a marble pattern. What resulted was a narrow gray-black bathroom. I booked 2 superior rooms with a friend. The rooms are clearly different. My room is just a very narrow balcony. It's uncomfortable for even two people to stand. But my friend, the adjoining room has a spacious balcony with 2 sets of sofa chairs to sit and relax. When I informed the hotel staff, they responded that because they wanted me to stay in a room next to a friend, they chose this room for me. It was a lower level room than what I paid. Not only that, the staff offered to upgrade me to a better room and I had to pay an additional 1000euro per night. I felt so sorry for myself for choosing this hotel. Not worth the money I paid at all. Even bringing your luggage to the hotel requires you to pay extra for this service. My friends and I walked up high and far from the ground. There was no impression in the room at all. And this hotel is at the highest point of the mountain, it is very difficult for you to walk to restaurants and grocery stores. Ci siamo fermati per un aperitivo in compagnia di amici che pernottavano in Villa Franca. Ristorazione e servizio di un livello altissimo, ottimi i crudi. Personale gentile e qualificato. Struttura spettacolare, panorama mozzafiato. Ci ritorneremo.

Common areas are beautiful, especially the rooftop pool! Our room was the smallest I have ever seen, with almost no closet space and no drawers to put things away. And we looked out at the roof of the building next door, so really not very nice. The staff however were fantastic. Despite the size of the room and the view we really enjoyed the hotel until check out. When checking out the lady showed me my total bill and then asked me what tip I would like to leave, implying I should tip on the total bill (which was around €7,000). I thought this was ridiculous, maybe this is a thing in the USA, but Italy does not have a tipping culture, nor do we in my country. How many people just leave a tip without thinking? Who even gets this tip? Would not go back for this alone, seems very greedy to me.

Our stay at Hotel Villa Franca was absolutely amazing!! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, they made us feel right at home from the moment we checked in. The views from our room were spectacular!! This hotel sits on one of the highest western points in the immediate Positano area so you get 360 degree views from its rooftop pool / lunch/ bar area. The hotel shuttle will drop you off in the town center where you can walk through beautiful little streets all the way the beach where there are great restaurants. Nadia and Aurora at the front desk topped off our stay, from helping us w reservations, cabs to and from restaurants, to helping us w our 25th wedding anniversary foto shoot. We had a multi city vacation but HVF was the absolutely the best!!

A lovely stay at this cute hotel with excellent views. We were there for four nights and had a wonderful time. The staff were super friendly and couldn’t be more helpful, especially Nadia and the views are probably some of the best in Positano. The rooftop pool was super chilled although it was early in the season and although the pool was not heated it was still lovely to spend time up on the roof. The food was great, especially breakfast and while cosy, the room made up for it with the views, able to sit on the balcony and watch the sun disappear over the hills. The concierge were really helpful and organising a car to and from Naples Airport made our journey super easy. It’s a trek down to the beach but easy enough to do downhill. The shuttle is easy to use and easy to plan around. Would stay there again.

I have a done fair amount of traveling and stayed at some very nice hotels, but after a 4 night stay here, this might have been the BEST overall experience I have had at a hotel in my life. Every single part was on point. First of all, the hotel is gorgeous! The views you get of Positano at the rooftop pool and from our room that had a balcony were breathtaking both during the day and at night. We spent a good amount of time on the rooftop, which is one of the best parts about the hotel especially when the weather is nice. The food and drinks were all delicious. Most importantly, the service was truly exceptional. Every single area of the hotel we went, we were greeted with incredibly kind staff members making sure we had anything we wanted. All of them were amazing, but we spent a lot of time with Gigi and Valeria at the rooftop pool and both were so accommodating and friendly. I could go on and on, but genuinely I could not have expected a better experience staying here and was told by multiple local Italians that this is the best place to stay in Positano. Made sense to us after we stayed here! Highly recommend this hotel and I seriously don't have 1 negative thing to say about it.
