Villa Fortuna

We really loved our stay at Villa Fortuna. The apartment was decorated beautifully, and was immaculately clean!! By that, I meant absolutely spotless, including the lobby area. (Shout out to the wonderful Marta!!) Our teenagers (19 and 17) slept on the pull out sofa, and they were plenty comfy, and there was enough space for all four of us. The villa is in Upper Positano, but as a result, the cost is half of what you would spend to stay closer to the beach. Still, all of Positano is walkable from the villa (if you are in decent shape - or you can use the public bus), and we liked that Upper Positano is removed from the crowds. We walked down to the town center each morning, then back up each evening with no problem. Two nights I was even in heels! It's great exercise! The villa is very quiet - we never heard neighbors or outside noise. There is a bakery literally next door, which is where we had breakfast and coffee/cappuccinos each morning. There are also several wonderful restaurants nearby - with gorgeous views! And the bus stop is right outside the door - so no lugging luggage up steps! And like I mentioned, if walking steps isn't for you, you have the option of taking the bus, which will drop you right outside the door. Diana was great at communicating with us before and during the trip, and she helped us arrange several activities and had wonderful recommendations for a private boat charter, restaurants, a private airport transfer that dropped us at our door, etc. Thank you Diana for a wonderful stay!

The property is well situated for taxis/buses as it is just off the two-way main road going to/from Positano. There is an ATM outside and a small newsagents and mini-market within metres of the front door. There are also bars/cafes nearby. The views from outside the villa are spectacular, with a small playground and beautifully tiled viewing platform adjacent to the property. Walking to the main street in Positano (Piazza dei Mulini) is also possible (as there are several staircase routes that start within 100m of the property). Different staircase routes connect to different points along Viale Pasitea. The owner/operator of the property was friendly, pleasant, and always behind the small reception desk when we left the property each morning (and contactable via whatsapp). This lady was lovely and let us store luggage by reception before departure. The room itself was light, spacious, clean and well maintained. We stayed in a room named Chorisia, which had a large comfortable bed, usb sockets, air conditioning, a large TV, a great shower, and a spacious terrace with hot tub. The terrace is large enough for a table/chairs and two sun loungers and overlooks the bay in front of Fornillo Beach. Overall a great room in a great location.

We loved Villa Fortuna! Gorgeous view and perfect space for two. We were on our honeymoon and it was romantic, clean and lux. The service was amazing and Dianna and her mother was readily available with everything we needed. We were treated to welcome champagne and a nice note!

The room was clean, huge, and just beautiful. Diane and her mother were so kind and extremely helpful. Those house, walking distance to shops, cafés, and the beach. The best part is that the city bus is three steps from the front door. I would highly recommend Villa Fortuna for anyone looking to travel and stay in Positano

Our stay in Villa Fortuna was simply incredible and made our stay in Positano unforgettable. Diana and her mother are exceptional hosts and made our experience even better with their kindness, help and by sharing their knowledge of local area to help us get around. The room was extremely clean and the view from the terrace is beautiful! Every last detail has been put into the rooms at the villa and you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The bus stop outside of the villa is super as you can easily travel around Positano by local bus to take you to the beach if you do not wish to take the steps (we didn’t mind the walk so only used the bus in the evening). Prior to our visit, Diana shared a digital guide of Positano with us which included things to do and places to eat. We followed the recommendations, which were fantastic! I would highly recommend staying at Villa Fortuna if you want a 10/10 experience. Thank you so much for having us ☺️.

As I'm sure you'll read time and time again, Diana and her mother were so kind. Diana is incredibly quick to respond to emails, and she coordinated our private transfers and a private boat tour of Capri. She was also helpful with so many recommendations (e.g. restaurants, transportation, activities). The facilities are incredibly clean and spacious. We booked the Orange Flowers room, and the only reason why I would book another room in the future is that there is not much of a view from the balcony -- it is mostly blocked by the balcony wall. However, it's still a lovely place to relax and enjoy the orange tree, and we would certainly go back to Villa Fortuna! We counted 457 stairs to the shops, as the hotel is at the top of Positano. The steps were actually welcome though, as it felt nice to walk off our dinners! The location was also great because the bus stop is right outside, so it's easy access to other places like Amalfi and Ravello. We were able to walk to all of these places: Da Vicenzo (delicious classic dinner) L'Ancora (most iconic Positano view for sunset dinner) La Serra (INCREDIBLE Michelin restaurant experience) Brasserie Covo dei Saraceni (got pizza to-go from the street-level restaurant [not hotel restaurant] and ate along waterfront) Ferry to Capri (recommend private boat tour) Boat to Arienzo Beach Club (recommend booking chairs) Bus stop to see Amalfi Coast (recommend Amalfi Lemon Experience with picnic) Other (e.g. shops, bars, galleries)
