We recently walked the Queen Charlotte Sounds over five days as a family and choose to make the 1 hour walk down off the track and stay the last night at Lochmara. So glad we did, our children loved this place. There is so much for them to do here; from the animal tour, exploring the extensive grounds, through to using the kayaks/stand-up paddle boards in their sheltered bay. The food was excellent with a wide range on the menu and the staff were incredibly accommodating with any requests. Then to top it all off, the soak in the bath house relieved the aches and pains before our last 18km on the track.
