Hospederia Monasterio de Poio

Actually visited Easter 2019 while in Poio/ Pondevedra for Multisport Worlds. Took a walk and ended up here and it’s a lovely spot and the buildings were interesting and priests welcoming. A great photography spot with blue skies. Surrounding countryside and vineyards fun.

if you don't speak Spanish, then the reception staff is not capable of helping. or worse, unwilling. Looks like a nice place but try sleeping at night. All the noise from the adjacent rooms, and from the floors above and below carry through the flimsy walls- all the sounds of bodily functions being carried out, flushing of the toilets. And because dinner is often had at 9 PM people return to rooms by midnight and are loud for at least another hour or so: if you are a weary hiker who had walked miles and miles on the Camino, don't expect to sleep. Breakfast is also very poor- the women who cook here seem to favor those who speak Spanish; many of them seem to get special meals while I was not offered anything like that, just dry, stale bread and a few other things. Not worth the money at all- they have no idea what hospitality is, even though their name proclaim it.
