Relais Country House

This is a lovely boutique style hotel. The room was very clean with a daily room keeping. The people who run the place obviously are perfectionists and doing that a thoughtful way by paying attention to the smallest detail. The staff is genuinely happy to be there and help the guests. The atmosphere of the hotel is relaxed (there is even a small garden). The setting of the accommodation itself is also perfect allowing you to discover surroundings of Naples/Amalfi coast by train (7-8 min walk to the Pompei Scavi train station) or car (the hotel has a large parking). There is an onside restaurant (Osteria Nonna Cherubina) which is excellent.

Everything about the place was centered on having a classically refreshing stay in the region of Pompei with my adult son. They started by arranging shuttle service from Naples. The room was set nicely with a large wardrobe and access to a private balcony. I found the fairly firm memory foam bed to be very comfortable. The manager was fluent in English, which was helpful as our Italian was somewhat inadequate. All the accomodations worked perfectly. Security systems were set up to deter intrusions from remote controlled outer gates to door locks that work only with the key. The complimentary continental breakfast is a combination between typical Italian and American with eggs, and a meat but many pastry and fruit options. The morning wait staff were particularly helpful. When they noticed that we had not made it to breakfast one morning due to an early excursion time, they made sure that two croissants were sent to the room. The manager took about a half hour out of his time to help us with questions about Italian language and customs. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, which is also the pick-up spot for many of the tours of the ruins of Pompei. In all an excellent stay.
