Hoposa Hotel & Apartaments VillaConcha

Just returned from an excellent 10 night stay. We were half board and enjoyed both breakfast and evening meals. Plenty of choice for the size of hotel and great quality. Our children enjoyed the food but some children may struggle as there wasn’t chicken nuggets, hot dogs, plain pizzas etc. The BBQ 3 nights a week was great. The pools were ideal - great size, temperature etc. Only slight criticism would be that some tiles around the side of the pool need attention. Inflatable assault course was good fun. Rooms were well equipped and the layout suited us. Plenty of storage and hangers provided. Air-conditioning was excellent. Appreciated that the safe was free of charge. More evening entertainment wouldn’t go amiss. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay again.

Second visit to Puerto Pollensa but first visit to VillaConcha. We wouldn’t stay at the hotel again but will definitely return to the resort. Positives: - great location. Nice gentle stroll to main square (max 10 minutes). Lots of restaurants and shops very close by. - most rooms seem to look out on to the pool area which is pretty and well maintained. - daily cleaning which is good. Some days are better than others. Seemed to only use the nice smelling products every 3 days - beds are comfortable - bathrooms are spacious and well maintained. - showers and changing rooms available for when checking out and no need to book, although one was scalding hot and the other was ice cold! Negatives: - our room had a really unpleasant damp smell which I think we managed to locate to being linked to the air con. I spoke to Reception about it 5 times but still never came to a resolution or explanation. During the last exchange of conversation with Reception I was told the facilities team said there was no smell and abruptly questioned about what I wanted?! I wasn’t lying! It really did smell. Eventually had a conversation with the room cleaner, even though we struggled with the language barrier, and she was more helpful than the Reception staff altogether. She explained the smell was due to the air ducts that run alongside the room for the kitchen. I had been worried about mould and damp, especially since my daughter is asthmatic so this reassured me. I feel strongly this should have been dealt with by management, not cleaning staff. If you’re offered room 134, ask for a different room - our room was directly above the patio where the restaurant is so it was noisy from 7.30am and we couldn’t open the curtains in the bedroom area as there would be no privacy if anyone looked up - air con is not very powerful and takes ages to cool down - despite lots of reviews commenting on the lack of sun beds, this has not been dealt with. I had to set an alarm every day of my holiday in order to get 3 beds for us. If you’re not by the pool by 8am you won’t get one.

Amazing hotel! We had a great time with the family, lots of activities to do, good services, especially the food!!!!!!!
