My recent stay was significantly affected by a frustrating car park experience. The switch from using the TNG card validation system to a coupon system caused a lot of confusion. During my first exit, everything went smoothly as the security guard assisted me in scanning the coupon. However, on my second exit after checking out, when I followed the same procedure on my own, my TNG card was charged RM22.
Since the card is registered under my father-in-law's account, I couldn’t retrieve the transaction record for a refund. While RM22 isn’t a substantial amount, I feel it was an unnecessary charge, and the situation highlighted how unreliable the system is.
What made matters worse was being questioned by your staff about whether I used the correct coupon—even though he had issued it to me just 10 minutes earlier during checkout. This lack of professionalism left me feeling disappointed and questioning whether I should return to your hotel. The car park system left me feeling cheated and misled.

Stayed for 2 nights in a Deluxe King Room. The check-in/out process was efficient; front office team was very friendly. I requested for a room near the lift and was pleasantly surprised that (due to the building layout), my room had minimal disturbance - double win! Liked the spacious room, great layout, friendly staff, complimentary parking and that everything works!
If you are looking to stay at a convienent (plenty of food options & Thai massage) part of JB that is NOT KSL or Southkey, Renaissance Johor Bahru is the place to be!

Location is a bit far from major shopping malls and traffic is often heavy due to a single bridge crossing. However there are many eateries and shops around, with an interesting night market on Sunday evenings. Also short drive to a great Seafood restaurant, Senibong Bay.
Room is big and comfortable with working air-conditioning and water pressure. However the air-con can get a bit loud at high speed. Recommended to adjust it to low or medium speed. The TV channels are very lacking, with mostly local channels and no movie channels. Be prepared to bring your own entertainments. Gym is just normal without any view and has a small sauna in the washrooms.
Buffet breakfast selections are good.
