It’s a beautiful place. Quiet and access to beach too. Boardwalk right outside the door. Clean and well kept. Wood beds are very noisy if you move. We had double queens and with kids let’s just say we had a squeaky night. We tried the restaurant upstairs. Really nice as well. Very good food. I done spa treatment as well and let’s just say it was a storage room for the outdoor cushions and they weren’t set away very well. To pay these prices with no one to greet you, no AC on, no soothing spa music, no calming spa scent go great you not The atmosphere I was hoping for . The massage itself was amazing.

The Ellysian was such a wonderful place. The location was great but truly it was the people who worked there that made it amazing. My wife and I have visited Placencia before but first time at this property and when we come back - we will stay here!

Our 5 day stay at the Ellysian was absolutely amazing. I contacted the hotel weeks before we arrived and the staff helped me to create a very special private proposal dinner experience. They converted their spa (couples massage there was great) into the proposal dinner, we had our dedicated waiter (Anthony was amazing, very helpful and attentive) and another staff recording and taking photos, hired a local florist, the food was delicious, etc. They really went above and beyond to make it a once in a lifetime experience. The pool by the beach was very nice, they have bikes and kayaks you can borrow, and it was fun to walk around Placencia. The community of ppl there were very very friendly. Our room was nice, clean, beds were comfortable. Placencia is a very chill relaxing beach town. It felt like we had made friends with most of the staff by the time we left. Highly recommend the Ellysian.

Spent a week at the hotel for a couples trip and really enjoyed the overall experience. The staff was communicative before we arrived to make sure we had a great experience. We were able to schedule excursions and airport pickup which was super convenient in proximity to the hotel. The overall property was quaint and located in area that was walkable to a lot of restaurants with an exceptional restaurant at the top of the hotel. I also enjoyed my spa experience and just the overall views of the hotel as it sits right on the beach. The accommodations were neat and clean and spacious as we got the one bedroom king suite. It was relatively quiet as there seemed to be a max of 6 suites. My feedback would be an update to the bathroom as it was a bit outdated, an update to the mattress and the couch. There was a miscommunication with the start times for excursions and spa but nothing that was unable to be corrected. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We would return!

We had an excellent stay at The Ellysian, all because of the amazing staff who makes sure you are having a wonderful time (they even leave little sweet notes in your room daily!), very clean hotel room, beach front location, easy walk to restaurants and stores, with pool by the bar. Highly recommend this place

We loved our stay. Everything was wonderful from the view to the accommodations. The staff is AMAZING! Vanessa was our favorite as we spent the most time with her. We loved our personalized notes each night as well.
The only negative is that the huge balcony only had a small sofa type bench to utilize. Would have loved to have a small table and chairs with a couple lounges.
