THIS APARTMENT IS INFESTED WITH PESTS. We had booked a three night stay at what seemed to be a lovely apartment in the heart of Pisa. There aren't many hotel options so we decided to go with Airbnb. Call me crazy but I am use to a certain level of cleanliness.... We got to the apartment one early evening. Walking up the flights of stairs we were immediately greeted by the largest mosquitos we have ever seen. Coming from South Florida we have seen LARGE mosquitoes. These were the biggest we've ever seen! We thought the mosquitoes would stop at the door of the apartment but when we opened we were greeted by an entire colony(maybe multiple) of mosquitoes. Every wall, light fixtures, door, furniture were covered with dead mosquitos from all the previous tenants that had the same problem as we were having. We were killing bugs for as long as we could have our eyes open for. It was the last thing we wanted to be doing after a long day of travel. If it wasn't so late we would have left to a hotel earlier. I notified both Airbnb and the host about the pest problem. Their solution was to have someone come and spray the apartment. This was simply an unacceptable solution. We were in town for a wedding and had no time to wait around for pest control people or want to leave the key for random strangers to possibly go through our personal belongings. IT IS NOT A GUESTS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN A HOSTS APARTMENT. This issue is not something any guest should have to deal with. I urge you to please do not book at this apartment. The pictures are deceiving, a complete bait and switch. The apartment is disgustingly maintained. The hosts are no help and refuse to see the customers' concerns. We abandoned the apartment after the first night. Horrible experience. I am an avid camper and my tent would have been a better option than your apartment. You all are so immature and are incapable of running an airono. It is not my responsibility to tell you there is a problem, and especially not a problem of this magnitude! You should be ashamed, running a scam business. Bait and switch. If your apartment was in America I would take you all to court. So unacceptable and I can't believe I am still wasting my breathe with you. Anyone with even a partial backbone would stick up for what is right. You refused to do what was right and you all are upset Airbnb refunded me for this horrible experience you all put us through. I hope you get what you deserve. Oh. Also they leave racist remarks regarding their customers. As an Asian traveler I’d recommend you do some digging and you will find these blatant racist comments.

We were a bit nervous arriving at the accommodation as there are very mixed reviews - some state it as 'terrible' and others say it is 'amazing'! I'm not sure if this reflects luck of the draw or a change in management. The room and shared kitchen were clean and comfortable but the listing details were inaccurate. There was not a desk in the room which was frustrating as I was on a work trip and had to work on a tiny table in the shared kitchen. Unfortunately there was very poor lighting in there as the main light was not functioning. There was no kettle in the room which didn't matter to us as we just used the kitchen, but again this was inaccurate in the listing. There were significant defects in the decor of our room - paint and wallpaper peeling off in multiple places. It was also not at all sound proofed such that we had loud footsteps through the ceiling, other guests moving about and talking and even going to the toilet (not very pleasant!). The water pressure in the shower was very low - challenging for me to wash my long hair so I actually didn't bother to try after the first day. The particularly frustrating issue was that the self-check-in relied on having access to a phone or internet to receive codes at the moment of check-in. Given that I have to pay roaming charges when abroad this was not ideal and I struggled to get information from the company prior to leaving the UK. All in all it was not a bad place to stay but I wouldn't stay here again.
