Me and my family booked our stay at The Escape Grand Villa for 6 days, expecting a relaxing and safe vacation. However, on the fourth day, we experienced a terrifying incident that left my wife and my 10 month old baby traumatized. My wife saw a staff member from the Escape Villas company inside our villa, stealing roughly 70,000 baht from our bag. She went outside to confront him, and shockingly, he pushed her to the ground, leaving her bruised and shaken. We managed to catch the thief ourselves no help from the security staff at all, we asked them to shut the gates because the thief was trying to run away but no help by security staff, which is very strange behaviour! To make matters worse, local workers in the area informed us that this is not the first time such incidents have occurred. We were also told that a neighbour had been robbed twice before it’s clear there’s a recurring issue with security at this property and nothing has been done to protect guests. We asked the owner of the company Ramon for a full refund given the severity of the situation. To our dismay, he only offered to refund 2 nights (the night we were robbed and the following night) or provide credit for future stays, which felt insulting and dismissive, (I wouldn’t stay there again even if it was for free). While I could have accepted this offer and move on, I chose not to, as I believe its a matter of principle and pride to hold businesses accountable for their actions or in this case their negligence . This incident made us feel completely unsafe and violated during what was supposed to be a peaceful family holiday. With such a lack of security and an unprofessional response from the management, I strongly urge others to think twice before booking this property. The security and the other members of the staff cooperate together to steal whatever they can. Guest safety and trust should be a priority, but that was clearly not the case here.
