I really enjoyed my stay at the Palace Gate Hotel & Resort. The location is perfect and the customer service was fantastic. The room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast offered was delicious and there was a nice variety to choose from daily. My son loved the pool. The hotel environment was relaxing which was much needed after being out during the day touring the city.

Celebrated my kid birthday last month in July 2022 at Ban Ban Hotel roof top, Ban Ban Sky Bar. Nice and cozy place to relax and enjoy with great foods and service. And it’s only 15 minutes drive from the phnom penh intl airport.

I think it’s a Chinese boss. I feel like I’m still in China in their apartment. It’s all in Chinese. I heard that it’s the first time I lived in their house. The front desk actually upgraded me to an executive suite. Oh, I’m going. The kitchen and all self-service washing machines must be praised! There is a 24h supermarket downstairs, and you can also play golf on the second floor. I went to look for tea when the guests came at noon. I asked the front desk. There is a tea room, which is very convenient. It seems that I can live here when I come back to work.
Shangri-La Phnom Penh

I’ve always admired Shangri-La as one of my top 5-star luxury international brands, so I was very excited about its opening in Phnom Penh. Unfortunately, my experience at Kommune - Dining & Social Space was disappointing and felt like a waste of money, even for $1. If you’ve visited Shangri-La properties like Sydney or Bangkok, you’ll notice a stark difference. The customer service here was unprofessional and far below expectations. As Khmer guests, we didn’t feel welcome there were no smiles or greetings, unlike the way Western guests were treated. It felt like we were there asking for free food. The menu was too basic, with no signature dishes or proper recommendations. When we asked, they simply said, Everything is delicious. The restaurant staff and manager were rude and lacked the professionalism expected of a 5-star hotel. Honestly, the food quality was worse than street food. I wouldn’t recommend dining here. Instead, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra and Rosewood Phnom Penh remain far superior choices. That said, our visit to the Mekong Lounge and the guest rooms was much better. Mr. Barang, the Guest Service Manager, and Ms. Thida at the front desk treated us with outstanding hospitality. A special thank you to Mr. Barang for recommending Shangri-La tea it brought back fond memories of other Shangri-La properties like Sydney Australia. He truly made my weekend better. The rooms were beautifully designed and refreshing to see. However, the restaurant’s poor customer service overshadowed the overall experience. For a 5-star international luxury brand, service standards must improve. Until then, I recommend Sofitel and Rosewood as the best options in Phnom Penh.
Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh

First stay in the Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh. Very large, multiple building complex in the Beng Kok, Daun Penh District. Funnily enough, where the hotel and its surroundings are built was once a former lake (99 acres/hectares to be precise) about 10+ years ago in what was considered the city centre of Phnom Penh. The area is still relatively new as was some of the buildings adjacent to the hotel. The interior of the hotel was beautiful and opulent and definitely felt upper class. The rooms, especially the 2 Bedroom Apartment we stayed in was very spacious and had a functioning Kitchen with full size appliances and coffee pod machine. balconies had very good views depending on the directional aspect of your room. The buffet breakfasts were nice and plentiful. All the staff were well spoken, friendly and courteous and spoke Proficient English, considering the hotel manages a lot of seminars and conferences. I envisage this hotel will bring in more clientele as the area becomes more built up. Congratulations to the Management Team and all the staff. Will definitely return in the near future.
Himawari Hotel Apartments

Sangkat Chakto Mukh
I have stayed at least 5 extended stays at the Himawari Apar**ents when visiting Phnom Penh, it is the only place I stay in Phnom Penh. What I like about the Himawari is the security, the large rooms, the location (right beside the river), the swimming pool is a good size and sparkling clean, and the restaurant. It is central, and so quiet. But also the staff are fantastic, from the security, front counter, admin and cleaners, everyone is always so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. This is the place to book in Phnom Penh
