2-Star Hotels in Philadelphia

We normally stay at Airbnbs, but there wasn’t one close to center city that was within our budget or worth our time. So we stayed here and weren’t disappointed. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our room had a window that faced the wall of an adjacent building, but this was a plus because we’re from a rural area and didn’t have to deal with light pollution or city noise. Plus, it kept the room really dark. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy pillows. Now….cleanliness. The room was really clean and no sign of bedbugs or other insects. There were some stains on the floor and a few cigarette burns, but nothing major. I always bring my black light to check the toilet and shower cleanliness, not to mention the furniture for…bodily fluids. All I can say is that they get an A+ for not leaving the previous guests DNA plastered about.

If I want to wash clothes, she will take me there and teach me how to do it. I booked a room for four people, and there was only one other person there that day, so it was very quiet and comfortable. In addition, you need to swipe your card to enter and exit, and the location is also very quiet. I need to remind everyone that hotels in the United States do not bring toiletries. If you don’t bring them, just go to the nearby Chinatown to buy them. You can also buy locks there, so you can feel free to lock your things in the cabinet and go out to play with various things.

We chose this hotel because it offered breakfast and the others in the area did not. I am so glad we went with Holiday Inn Exprs Penns Landing! There breakfast was hot and wonderful. Best breakfast in a hotel hands down! It was walking distance to most all historical sites. I was worrying because it seemed on the map a bit farther out than other options and I am totally out of shape. I am probably in the heaviest ten percent of the population (morbidly obese). It was a very easy walk for me to Betsy Ross House, Ben Franklin Gravesite, Elfareth Alley, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Liberty Visitor Center and great local dining. The location, room and breakfast was great. Clean hotel in very safe area. I felt very safe even at night. I will say the interstate noise is incredibly loud at night. If you are a light sleeper go elsewhere. However, we are a family if heavy sleepers and I was the only one who noticed the interstate noise but not enough to keep me awake. Loved this place

Honestly I think it should be lower. The workers were unpleasant. I'm surprised that asking the Valet a simple directions question and he had to look at his phone for directions. We had a corner room and it would have been good but the room has a pocket door and we called down and maintenance came to fix it, he also kept saying sorry he needs to replace the lock, but would do that once we left the next day. That wasn't the problem each one of us ended up getting stuck and the rest of us had to play with the door to get them that out. It ****** so we would give the person privacy away from the bathroom because our bed looked right into the bathroom. We did not want to continue that process.. When we checked out the woman was dealing with a guy and they were having an issue. I waited and when she was finished she made her way to me. My daughter and I said if you need a minute, we were super friendly and accommodating but she was not. The room was ok, but if your afraid of bunnies don't stay here. Bunnies on walls everywhere

I simply cannot say enough about this center city hotel. From the first line knowledgeable, friendly receptionist(s) on both shifts; actually EVERY staff member was friendly (I really wish I'd written down names); to the cleanliness of all aspects of the hotel to include the rooms and especially the bathroom area with the DOVE soap/shampoo/body wash, good water pressure, comfortable beds, fridge and microwave. And last but certainly not least.......the breakfast..... from the 1 minute pancake maker to hot everything else including fat biscuits, to the cold breakfast beverage(s) machine and good coffee. In/out Parking co-located with the hotel. My second year in a row. I'm impressed. and we'll be back. Keep up the good work.

Wonderul personality and efficient with accommodating me in my time of need with husband in the hospital securing extra nights for my stay. Plus the Inn is very special and offers so many amenities. Location is key and some nice restaurants in the area. Walking all over is safe and attractive. Loved the socials!

Very quiet room, very good beds, breakfast included. Parking are rar and needs to be extra searched and paid. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For stops on the journey only recommend, for longer stays the room would be too small; something strange that no window was in the room, but ventilation has also worked so.

Stayed 2 nights & were very happy with it all. The rooms were newly refurbished & were clean, modern & comfortable. The breakfast options were varied and delicious. Fresh chilled water was always available in the lobby as well as complimentary cookies & cheese at certain times of the day. The location was excellent with all historic landmarks within walking distance. Great food options for all tastes, also within walking distance. Overall a very nice stay, highly recommend & will definitely come back

The hotel is located in the Chinatown of Philadelphia, close to the city hall of Philadelphia and the city hall. You can get to Penn by subway. Unfortunately, in a hurry, I didn't have a good meal in Philadelphia Chinatown.

This hotel is an older hotel that could use some updates. That being said, it was the perfect location for the graduation we were attending at the Liacouras center on Broad Street. We walked to the ceremony no problem and we had two older people in our party. The staff was very nice and generally accommodating. We had a couple of small hiccups, first, the tub in room 205 didn’t drain very well. Second, we requested a rollaway bed for our final night and were assured it would be put in the room, it never was. Lastly, our final day at the hotel housekeeping never materialized to clean or replace towels. These were all minor things, sure, but still a little annoying. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and if we ever needed to visit Philly again would certainly stay at the Connell Inn.
